Healing mode #38

Gladiusex have been my favorite arena addon swince I discovered it years ago, and I'm so glad to see it once more get an update.

Seeing how I recently changed main into healing I have noticed that healing isn't very friendly with gladiusex, so I'm wondering if it would be possible to create a "healer mode" to turn on/off?

I get it's not likely any priority when the addon hasn't been updated in such a long time, but it really would be useful for a lot of people if it gave a good controle over hots, debuffs and CC.

    Hi,

What would that healing mode change?

  • nightspyre posted a comment Sep 15, 2017

Forgive me my hard-core Microsoft Paint skills. I was thinking something like this:

I see what you mean now. To be completly honest, I don't remember to what extent the "auras" feature goes.

Would it be OK if it were something like "cooldown groups", where you could decide where they'd go and which buffs/debuffs would be tracked for each group?

  • Vendethiel posted a comment Sep 19, 2017

Seems to me you can already do what you want with the current auras submodule.

I set Auras > Buffs > Position: Attach to = Power Bar, Position = Top, Grow = Up right

I set Auras > Debuffs > Position: Attach to = Class Icon, Position = Left, Grow = Down Left

If you want to change *where* the class icon is displayed, you can just go to Class Icon and set Position: Left.

Feel free to specify what you expect to be different.

You're the maintainer so as far as what's ok, this addon already is bloody brilliant for dps since it provides an exceptional overview over your partners cd's and ofc trinkets. However I don't think it's a good party frame for healers as it is now, and what I suggested would make it usable for that group too.

Deciding yourself where they'd be placed inside the health frame etc would be helpful, yes.

Regarding the player him-/her-self deciding "which buffs/debuffs would be tracked for each group" I'm not sure I understand what you mean? making buffs one group, and debuffs another? I was thinking something like an exception list where you can add stuff like Sign of the Emissary, Mana Divining Stone, just examples, they might not even be showing inside arena.

  • Vendethiel posted a comment Sep 19, 2017

I mean: the features you ask for already work. Even the exception list for stuff like Sign of the Emissary is present.

It's just a bit tedious since you need to add buffs and debuffs you want to track manually. Would you want something that shows *all buffs*&*all debuffs* except those in the exclusion list?

You can also decide where they'd be placed inside the health frame, as I showcased with my screenshot.

  • nightspyre posted a comment Sep 19, 2017

Yes, show all buffs and debuffs except for those in an exclusion list.

I wasn't aware you could show auras in gladiusex, so that makes things a lot easier.

I still think a "healing mode" which would set the frames a little bit different like i made in my example would make it more readable though.

I will do some testing tomorrow to see what configurations can be made in the settings now, but "all buffs" & "all debuffs" would be a neat feature with an exception list if not already present.¨¨

I've been a way for a few days, so I never got around to testing it after you updated. :p

  • Vendethiel posted a comment Sep 20, 2017

Yes, you can do auras with GladiusEx.

And you can decide to have it work with a blacklist, so that you see everything <except some debuffs>. That's how I use it on my rdruid; pretty much as you exemplified it.

  • nightspyre posted a comment Sep 20, 2017

    Hi again.

So it seems you can setup what I asked within the addon already, quite happy you responded so I was made aware and could set it up.

It does take a lot of work though with X/Y moving manually, adding bear form, fel heart bond, mana divining stone, mark of shifting, principles of war, travel form, and so on in the blacklist to get a proper overview of the buffs/debuffs you want to watch.

I still think a "healer" profile" with something like what I got running now, easily turned on, would make the addon more appealing to the lazy folks, but I'm just happy I got what I wanted :P I think some of the blacklists I mentioned should be added as a default as they have zero value to be tracked.

Below is how I did my setup if anyone else are interested.

    Hey,

Looks like a pretty cool setup.

I'll see to add these to the default exclusion list :).

    What's your timers addon btw?

  • nightspyre posted a comment Sep 21, 2017

    What timer addon?

The icon above their nameplates with timers is FlyPlateBuffs if that's what you mean?

  • Vendethiel posted a comment Sep 21, 2017

No, I meant the cooldown text being displayed only in the upper half of the icon.

  • nightspyre posted a comment Sep 21, 2017

Pretty sure it's OmniCC, I use it for TellmeWhen, but haven't gotten around to configuring that yet.

  • nightspyre posted a comment Sep 22, 2017

Are you sure that debuff aruas are working as intended with "show only dispellable" ?

I was noticing yesterday in 3s that it seemed to show a lot of debuffs which I couldn't dispel as a druid. Does it take into consideration your class, or does it show all poison, disease etc who different classes can dispel?

  • Vendethiel posted a comment Sep 22, 2017

No, I'm not sure. To dispell or not to dispell has always been an open question with blizzard... I need to take a look with my druid.

  • nightspyre posted a comment Sep 23, 2017

As you can see here, bleeds are showing, + some other druid debuffs I can't dispel.

You're right. I'll need to find someone to help me do some testing :).

  • Vendethiel posted a comment Sep 30, 2017

Could you list the de/buffs you'd like to be ignored by default?

  • nightspyre posted a comment Oct 1, 2017

I think there probably are many. Mana divining stone, Fel heart bond, druid forms/stances and Principles of war should are some to get started. The main problem I've been having is that "show only dispellable" isn't working, so you get your party frame filled up by debuffs you can't do anything about. If you leave out those I mentioned in buffs showing I think it's a good start and unless there is something obvious, people can just filter it themselves.

I also noticed when playing 3s last night that some cc isn't showing in the frame for cc. I don't remember all, but I think Imprison wasn't showing?

That's very possible. I used the list of auras from WoD, so DH didn't exist then.

Sweet update. Hope to see further improvements.

I didn't forget about you! I just need someone to do some testing with; I don't have anyone to sit down for around an hour and do some digging.

    Hey,

I don't have a computer to test right now... I'm trying to remember, the Clicks module does allow you to set a spell to cast, right?

    Ty that worked :O nice!

  • Vendethiel posted a comment Nov 23, 2017

    Hey,

Just an update to let you know that the upcoming/currently-alpha version has a lot of new classicon auras (like Imprison).

I also fixed the alerts module (alert on certain spell cast / health / buff / debuff), and added an option not to notice on the player's cast.

I started making a list of default blacklist auras. I think I'll include them in, irrelevant of some "healer mode" :).

Still need to find someone to take an hour or so and test buffs & debuffs things with. I'll keep you posted.

I'd be happy to help if you need to do some ingame testing.

    Keep up the good work.

    Hey, so I recently found this addon and its amazing! But some spells are missing and I have some improvementsuggestions as well ^^ Thought I'd just put it in this thread instead of a new as you just said you've got upcoming updates with new spells;

Missing: Lightning Surge Totem, most artifact amilities as far as I could see, various honor talents like Cyclone and Counterstrike totem++

For the suggestions: The cooldown settings can be a bit tedious to deal with. Naming the groups we make would help, as right now I have one with Personal DR, Offensive CDs, kicks, and cc in 4 different groups. Also making groups stay duplicated on both your group and enemy would be nice. Finding out I missed a spell in a group makes me have to change it in both party and arena groups.

In the Auras, it would also be great with a grouping option. In my case as a healer, I would like to make groups with dispellable and undispellable debuffs, and one for CC only which I ofc would make big and shiny so I can dispell asap.

Keep up the good work, huge fan of it after about a 6 hrs with tweaking and polishing on my setup :P If you want someone to test with btw on eu, feel free to add Haxor94#2686. I'm on pretty much all the time ;)

    Just added that option.

    > Also making groups stay duplicated on both your group and enemy would be nice. Finding out I missed a spell in a group makes me have to change it in both party and arena groups.

I added an option to copy spells from the same-name opposite unit cooldown groups.

After discussing a bit on bnet, we agreed that classicon does that better.

This should be in the next release :).
