Der Assist Helper

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This simple, command-line only module allows you to bind two keys:
- one to set the main assist (out-of-combat); and
- one to assist the main assist (anytime).

It does this by dynamically creating a macro, which means a new assist can only be done outside of combat; assisting can be done in combat. The macro, called Der Assist Helper, is a global macro, and as such you must have one free global macro available. Using setassist on no target sets the assist to focus.

The usage from within the game (accessed through /derassisthelper or /dah):
Usage: /derassisthelper {assist | setassist}
- assist: The keybind (e.g., type 'F') to assist.
- setassist: The keybind (e.g., type 'SHIFT-F') to set the assist.

Example in game use:
/dah assist F
DerAssistHelper: Assist macro now bound to F.
/dah setassist SHIFT-F
DerAssistHelper: Set assist now bound to SHIFT-F.

[select any friendly mob]
[press SHIFT-F]
DerAssistHelper: Assist set to Alice.
[press F]
[Alice is assisted]
