Chinchilla Minimap
Chinchilla Minimap
Minimap addon of awesomeness. Chinchilla alters the default minimap in a way to provide better features and other niceties.
- Appearance - Allows changing of border style, size, and shape of the map. Doesn't have to be circular, or even square. Lots of options are available.
- Compass - A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
- Coordinates - Show your location coordinates.
- Expander - Make the minimap large temporarily. Great for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy.
- Location - Show the name of your location more flexibly.
- Move Buttons - Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want, or even off the minimap entirely.
- Ping - Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
- Position - Position the minimap and frames around it.
- Quest Tracker - Adjust the size and appearance of the objectives window.
- Range Circle - Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
- Show Hide - Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
- Tracking Dots - Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colourblindness.
- Zoom - Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap, and zooms out automatically after a short delay.

LFG (eyeball) button vanishes and I have to reload. Not sure if it's tied to Chinchilla yet, but I don't really have that many add-ons.
Chinchilla Minimap no longer shows those blue areas when tracking quests... It shows on some of my chars, but not on all...
Anyone know if this is a wow-client feature? or Chinchilla minimap feature?
Anyhow...how do i Re-enable it?.... Makes it hard to see when i am not in an area where i get kills for mobs etc...
EDIT: Seems there is an option for tracking "Track PIOs" on the minimap...which seems to be it. Sorry for the bother.

curious if anyone can help me. i have the current version installed (2.7.1) and everything works fine except my quest objective/tracker is acting strange. ive been trying to position it on the right side of my UI , so i check the box to move it (it turns orange) and i position it where i want it, when i uncheck the box that should lock it in place it repositions itself in the lower right hand corner of my screen so that all thats visible is 'objectives'. no matter where i move it on my screen, the minute i unclick the check box to lock it in place it zips back to that right hand corner. the only way i can get it to stay visible is if i move it really far up to the top of my screen, but theres a very small area where i can move it where it wont dart back to that bottom right corner the second i uncheck the box. i dont have move anything or quester installed - are there any other addons you can think of that would interfere with this function? any help is appreciated
thanks
@next96
Your installed version of Chinchilla is out of date. Please update to v2.7.

Since boss frames was the only issue I have, I am still using latest version. As a workaround I changed from Pitbull4 to ShadowedUnitFrames that have customazation of bossframes.
So for me it's not a issue anymore that I can't move them with this addon.
@EthanCentaurai
Thanks for the update. I didn't mean to sound ungrateful or entitled and I got nothing but admiration and appreciation for you. I agree that for this project working/consistent positioning should be the priority.
@Excelis
Believe it or not, the frames being larger was a bug, which in turn created more issues especially with positioning the frames.
This is the default size of the boss frames as defined in Blizzard's XML code.
I may add options to make them bigger again in the future, but I want to get the positioning working first and that will require a huge re-write of that module's code.
Also, I am only one man working on multiple projects, as well as trying to support my fiancée and her child. It will get done. I just don't know when yet. :(
I'm going to revert back to v2.6 Release version for now. <crosses fingers for a fix soon> :)

Almost same exact issues as Lisiya. Frames are small and no options to adjust their scale. Frames worked on first boss pull but then didn't work. Reloading the UI didn't seem to fix the issue.
@EthanCentaurai
It works now. For me the boss frames are quite small.
Update: First pull on boss, it worked, we wiped and I was ressed inside instance. On second pull, frames were back at minimap again.
Update2: Next pull it worked again, no idea why.

@Excelis
I've made some very ugly changes and I think I've solved it. Please test v2.6-12 and let me know what happens.

I'm having the same issue with v2.6-6-g14b8bbd.
I am running latest version (v2.6-6-g14b8bbd) and still have problem with boss frames.
Moving bosss frames seems to work when I configure addon, but as soon as I get in combat in raid, frames are moved back below minimap.
Managed to die in a raid and while out of combat I moved the frames again, it looked like it worked, but after a few seconds the frames moved back below the minimap.
Thank you very much ethan!
Boss frame support (movement/visibility) has been added back in as of Version 2.6-3 and onwards. The code still isn't optimal but your much-loved features are back.
Enjoy!

Navigate to Interface/AddOns/Chinchilla/Chinchilla.lua and replace WatchFrame:SetHeight(700) on line 177 with WatchFrame:SetHeight(500), save the file and then reload your UI. That should do the trick. :)
The width is handled by Blizzard's code; Chinchilla simply provides a shortcut to the Wider Objectives Window setting.
@Barfolomeu
I've disabled it for now pending a code re-write. In its current state it is more trouble than it is worth. Don't worry, I want to bring it back and it will be much better than before! :)
