This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

Cartographer is, in my opinion, one of the best addons ever made for World of Warcraft. While there have been some fine substitutes to fill the very big void left, it would be fantastic to see this addon picked up and retuned for Cataclysm. There are so many talented programmers out there, I guess the main problem for most is a lack of time.

I have a question for the Project Manager and the Additional Authors. Because this addon has been out of date seen 3.3, World of Warcraft current version is 4.0.1!

My question is, will this addon be updated for the current patch or not? I demand an answer!

Otherwise i will get curse to do some cleaning here because the addon can not serve it function if it is not up to date.

Oh.. I've been dealing with this addon being an issue for sooo long..
My map has been bugged for ages. And I finally went to this page and checked.

Shame on me for not going here sooner ;) Ty for a nice addon as long as it worked anyways.

I'll try something else.

They say in BIG GIGANTIC RED LETTERS that they are NOT updating this addon. I would harbor a guess that real life >WoW for them. I am still looking for a suitable addon to replace this one. If anyone happens upon one, please send me a message here.

if you still use this addon for stuff like Zygor, disable the "Look -n- Feel" or whatever and it works properly.

This is an AWESOME addon that has seen it's day, and is no longer being updated. That's all. No need to insult those who put so much time and effort into it just because they've moved on to other things.

I might be integrating Cartographer into my addon, WoWMap, along with Atlas. I will need ckknight's permission though. Please support me. If I can get this to work, then I might be able to keep cartographer alive, as well as Atlas. You can even turn off Atlas if all you want is Cartographer. Thank you.

I might be asking ckknight to allow me to integrate cartographer into my addon, WoWMap. It would be combined with Atlas though. The maps would use Atlas textures and the features would match Cartographer. I was thinking this would be a cool idea. So ckknight, can I use it? It would help the addon community alot if I revived it in my addon. Oh, and also, I'm going to allow Atlas and Cartographer to be turned off, meaning that you can use one, or both. so Cartographer, Atlas, or both of them together. I think it's a pretty nice deal.
