What steps will reproduce the problem?1. Press 'Esc' to open the 'Option' menu2. Select 'Interface' from the 'Option' menu3. When the 'Interface' panel opens, an empty frame (or frames?) appear beneath the 'Interface' panel. The frame stays on the screen until reload, I could not find another way to get rid of it.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The expected output is no to have this annoying empty frame. :)
What version of the product are you using?I first saw it with r28 (it was bundled with the 'Chatter' addon), but it happens with the current 3.4.0 release as well.
Do you have an error log of what happened? No errors are displayed.
Please provide any additional information below. The empty frame (frames?) have no name -- the 'Chaos Frame Modifier' addon says 'Mouseover: Not Defined, Parent: Unavailable". The frame has a button looking part and a dropdown list part, both empty. A /reload gets rid of it, but it will come back if I repeat the above steps.I upload a screenshot.

can you narrow it down to a specific addon causing it? (i have never experienced this error)
also when you which addon is the first one that gets selected when you open the Interface Options?
1) I could not narrow it down to a specific addon. I searched for AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets.toc in my Addons directory, and it turned out that the following addons have it as an included library:
I disabled them all one at a time, but the error persisted. Note that I also have the AceGUI-3.0-SharedMediaWidgets library installed as a standalone lib. When I disable that one, even if all the above addons are enabled, the error disappears. All of the above addons include r22 or v3.3.1 or even older.
Edit: of course the error disappears also if I downgrade the standalone lib to r22 or older, not just if I disable it...
2) I can't really answer your question. None of the addons are selected. When I just plain open the Interface options, the 'Game' tab will be active and the 'Controls' section will be selected. The empty frame appears even in this case. (Even if I change to the 'AddOns' tab, no addon is selected at first by default...)
3) I tried all the releases up to 3.4.0. It turned out that r22 works ok, but after the rewrite, that is starting from r23, I get the error.
reinstall your standalone version to the latest release and see if that fixes it
Sorry, but neither r30, not r31 did the trick for me, the frame still appears and still empty. :( (Might be something completely unrelated, but after installing r30 my TomTom 'crazy arrow' jumped into the center of the screen.)
it may be some compleatey random addon that isn't doing what its supposed to then all you can do now is do a binary search http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_search_algorithm
basically disable half our addons and see if it goes away then half of either of those halfs and so on till you only have the addon left
(you should be able to keep all libs loaded)
Sorry, but with over 300 addons even a binary search would need approx. 8 stages and more than 600 disabling / enabling steps, and I am not selfless to do that. So I will leave with the old version for now, hoping that the error will be found be the author of the malfunctioning addon somehow... Thank you for trying to help!
sorry, i'll leave this open for now to see if anyone else has the issue but am not sure what else to due till then
Update: following the advices by the nice folks at WoWInterface, I could isolate the problem to the Energy Monitor addon! If that is disabled, the frame (that belongs to the sound widget) does not appear. :) Thank you!
you might want to contact that author then and see if he can figure out whats going on
Edit: Just a heads up that addon hasn't been updated in over a year and a half so it might be time to find something that has been updated for a more recent version ow wow :)
Edit2: gonna close this ticket unless it is truly the widgets that are blowing up and not Energy monitor
