Shaman Warning

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This mod will play a sound alert when you gain certain shaman buffs/special abilities. I made this because many times I don't even realize I have them due to fights or not reading the entire combat chat.

Eye of the Storm

Lightning Shield
Maelstrom Weapon
Mana Tide Totem
Mongoose
Tidal Waves
Water Shield
Windfury
Trinkets (List of supported trinkets)

Trinket warning is still being tested, it should work fine with many trinkets but if you find one that doesnt work just send me a message and I will take a look!

Configuration

You can configure the alerts via the addon tab in interfaces options. They're divided in 5 categories: Elemental, Enhancement, Restoration, Trinket and Miscellaneous.

You can also load the configuration page using the chat commands '/shw' or '/shamanwarning'

Will try to keep on adding warnings to the mod.

Trinket Warning

Trinket Warning has been released to warn you when your trinket's proc (if they're able to). It scans your equiped trinkets everytime you change them to see if the ones equiped are able to proc or are not supported. If you feel that your trinket procs but you cant hear the warning (despite is on), please feel free to PM me about it and I will add it.

Localization

If you want to help with the localization of the addon feel free to use the new localization tool

Hi just downloaded your addon looking forward in using it thanks, just of a question for you that picture of the shaman is that picture of a wow toon and if is what gear is on him, I really love that look if you could let me know the gear, i would love it thanks,

Is anyone else experienceing loud booms when casting spells i hear them when i drop my totems and when I cast healing spells. Heals are aweful because it booms when i cast and booms again when it heals. Very annoying is there a way i can make it stop doing that?

This is the closest thing I found to what I was looking for, fits all of my needs but one. Would it be possible to have it announce when lava burst is off cooldown just as it does when lava surge procs? The way it is now I still have to keep an eye on it in case lava surge does not proc before the cooldown is over.

I like the addon, but somehow the sound doesnt play for the lightning shield stacks, am I the only one with that problem?

In regards to what bigtaz6998 said,

It would seem that DBM has found a way around that issue and I can now have their addon sounds active without having to hear all the raid sound spam.

I use to use maelstrom maestro, but switched to shaman warning before this issue took place.

It would be really nice if one of those two addons would find the way around it so I could continue hearing my dethklok ringtone on a 5 stack of maelstrom ;D

i like the addon, but with vent and game sound going, its hard to hear the alert. is there a way to do a blue or green screen flash, or icon flash or something accompanied by the sound? Or possibly even a louder, more noticible sound for the alert?

i know the addon "magealert" has the screen flash, and has an option to toggle that on or off. its similar to the omen threat screen flash, but different colors. this information isnt really helpful to me, but to a designer of a mod, it might be. :D

Hi, I find this mod great!

One addition that would be really useful for Elemental Shammies is a Warning sound when our Lightning Shield hits NINE stacks, so that we can Earth Shock our target to death.

Am still COMPLETELY overwhelmed by the volume issue ! This is the greatest mod but what can i do to adjust the volume?? if i adjust all other wow sounds to accommodate this then other important sounds are not at the appropriate level for me. I wear a headset and just get blaaaaaasted?
any ideas on when u might include a volume modification to options?

Maelstrom weapon sound always plays (at the appropriate time, of course) even if I have it toggled off.

Maelstrom makes a LOUD long warning then continues playing throughout the course of the buff as long as you're doing something. I was wondering if you could make an automatic cutoff for volume early if you want to, and a volume adjustment as well.

Especially keep variable volume in mind if thats possible. Hearing the first loud announcement of maelstrom is great. Hearing that same noise at that volume for the next 6 seconds though, drowns out directions from raid leaders.
