562 - Warlock Pet not included with T12 proc
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Wear Tier 12 set bonus on a warlock, which spawns a fiery imp
2. Check the breakdown of the warlock's damage and compare with the pets not merged damage of the pet
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Pet damage should be included in the warlock's damage. Instead the ebon imp's damage is included (a bane of doom procced imp, NOT the fiery imp from the t12). Ebon imp contributes .5% of the warlocks DPS and is replacing the main pet, which contributes about 1/5th of the damage. Warlock is missing 3-5K DPS on recount as a result.
What version of the product are you using?
V4.2.0f the latest download from Curse. In game recount version shows 1173
Do you have an error log of what happened?
Please provide any additional information below.
It should be noted that comparing recount to world of logs, the pet damage is NOT being included in the Warlock damage. On a recent Recount I pulled 20.3K, my felhunter did 3.9K, fiery imp did 1.5K and ebon imp .4K. World of logs shows my total DPS at 25.7ish, recount shows my total DPS at 20.3. Of pet and 2 guardians, only the ebon imp is being shown in recount. The recounts of the other members of the raid show the same numbers, also failing to include my felhunter. The problem began once I got my T12 2pc, so I assume it is related to the fiery imp proc. I did not doomguard/infernal that fight, the doomguard/infernal damage appears to be included on previous fights.

Elsia Aug 21, 2011 at 14:10 UTC - 0 likesActually are you sure this is a bug? The tooltip only shows the last pet. This does NOT mean that other pets are not merged, it's a consequence of keeping the tooltip size manageable.
Pets are not added linearly, they are added based on over-time damage. I.e. if a pet is active longer or shorter than you in combat the sum between you and your pet will be lower than just the straight sum of DPS.
All I see here in terms of numbers is not incompatible with how this is handled and the fact that you state that the pet is still correctly accumulating damage means that the bug I thought was at play is actually not.

Elsia Aug 20, 2011 at 14:22 UTC - 0 likesFirst of it is well known that pet reporting in the combat log is buggy. This is a blizzard bug. All I am doing is doing my best to work around it.
The problem with this instance is precisely a consequence of this. The game allows 1 player-controlled pet and a number of uncontrolled guardians. Recount is programmed to allow just that.
But since 4.0.6 the flags of pet/guardian summons are buggy, making it impossible to track at summon if a mob is a guardian or a pet. In your combat log you see 0xa28 as the flag. This is clearly wrong because it marks the mob as non-pet NPC that is controlled by an NPC and not a friendly player. This is precisely the problem.
In any case I will try to find another workaround. The hope that pet handling will ever be robust is low as long as the combat log is this buggy however and I strongly encourage anybody who is on a US realm to report this as bug on the forum. Only if Blizz fixes it will things improve again.

Felhunter attacks for the first half before i put him on passive. Felhunter pulls 3.5K dps 142K dmg. fiery imp does 50K dmg 1.7K dps, and ebon imp does 16K damage, .4K dps. Recount shows ebon imp as my pet on mouseover.
Summon Fiery imp occurs on line 61 summon ebon imp occurs on line 118 and reads as follows: 8/18 22:23:49.242 SPELL_SUMMON,0x0680000003FB12B4,"Nonelia",0x511,0x 0,0xF130C5F3000C9C84,"Ebon Imp",0xa28,0x0,18662,"Bane of Doom",0x20
The recount showed fiery imp when i checked early on (before an ebon imp spawned) and showed ebon imp as my pet at the end. Felhunter was not rolled in to my damage, though when 'merge pets' was no checked his damage was recorded.

smcvaugh Aug 19, 2011 at 04:56 UTC - 0 likesI agree this is true and it is also true that it is not working for my felhunter alone either. I just finished a fight and looked up my dps was for the current fight 13687. I felt this was low so i separated my pets and added them all up. I came up with me at 8770 my felhunter at 6094 my firey imp at 2103 and the ebon imp at a whopping 486. A grand total of 17453. My dps and my felhunter dps was 14864. Definately something wrong.
