425 - Warlock damage

Description

My apologies for less than pinpoint information, I've been noticing it for quite some time. Since Cata has hit, warlock damage has not been fully measured the same on the warlock's recount and other recounts in the same raid.

Reproduction Steps

Here's where I cannot pinpoint the issue exactly. I've been trying to mine the differences to help isolate the problem here. I eliminated it being some have released, or were too far away for the meters to count, etc by testing it with guildmates purposefully standing on top of me and either not dieing or not releasing. What I've found that works correctly is all of the warlock direct damage spells, dots etc are identical between meters. My meter is identical to theirs for every other player. Also, if the damage counted has to do directly with the lock, it's fine. But the 3 pets (guardian, pet and ebon imp) we can have summoned/proc'd at any one time is where the issue lies. And I cannot tell what it is. I don't know if overlapping pet presence's damage is unable to be counted for the time they are overlapping, or where it's coming from. I am unable to get a WoL log for you due to 'WoW Logs dir not configured) to link, so, I reviewed warlock data on WoL to come up with the comparative numbers I have been losing between fights, between the meters, on a single fight using doomguard and felhound it was 235k of damage total missing between the meters. The pet numbers that most likely fit that 235k was the doomguard coming in at 189k (must've died) and the felhound's melee dmg of 292, 867. However, if you subtract the ebon imp's melee damage of 51152 from the felhound's melee damage, it comes really close to the discrepancy. I'll try to get a pet detail from my guild master assuming he hasnt deleted it yet to see if I cannot narrow this down some more. I hope this is worthwhile information to you all, sincerely, Mike.

I'd like to point out, this whole thing really isn't the end of the world, I just saw the discrepancy and figured I'd share it. At the end of the day the mob dies and the warlock gets an accurate count to make him/herself better. However, other parties in the same raid/group using the numbers for data or whatever reason are getting an inaccurate result.

Did a normal instance with 5 guildies running recount.

Again, all the numerical data between the meters on the detail screens were identical, recount is counting everything it appears.

However, when it translates the detailed data to the fight data screens, per fight, or overall to other meters, those other meters are not calculating some of the damage and displaying it for warlocks. For the warlock him/herself it is, just not on other meters.

I did a boss test with using only a glyphed succubus, using only lash of pain, no doomguard etc, all other abilities turned off.

    Example: My recount -damage(dps) 2007458(19080.5) Breach's recount- 1976261 (18644.0)

The difference in damage done was 31197 between the two meters, which was exactly the melee damage done by the ebon imp. Imp = 31197, his detailed meter showed it, just it didn't happen to go onto the count of his fight data screen (current fight main screen).

Then to grant extra data where I cannot find the discrepancy, since there is more going on there, but, if a piece of code is responsible for multiple things, this may make sense to you.

    Example: my recount-damage(dps) = 2498398(27834.2) Breach's recount = 2027591(22589.0)

The difference in damage between both meters, no deaths, and standing very near each other was a whopping 470,807. And that's what I'm talking about, it has happened I mainly notice in raids since Cata started. And since I never spam recount info into raid/party chat, most others don't either, so it was only noticed when someone happened to do so. There were too many numbers going on in this fight to calculate 470,807. Doomguard did 393128, ebon imp 17679, Felguard 663665 (m-158308+LS-179319+FS-326038), Amani bear cub 149494.

So, anyway, I figured more data might assist in directing towards the location of the discrepancy perhaps.
