Returns the max camera distance
Slash Commands: /mc, /maxcam
(Old video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tydOogfQCDM
- (Update 9/17) in patch 7.1 the default UI slider was removed and the cvar renamed to cameraDistanceMaxZoomFactor
You can also use this command instead of this addon (minus the increased zoom increment)
/console cameraDistanceMaxZoomFactor 2.6

Daytac Aug 05, 2016 at 22:48 UTC - 0 likesthanks for the addon i enjoyed every second of the game this addon made possible on beta realms you can use "/console cameraDistanceMaxFactor 2.6"
blizzard is such a little bitch about that topic. it would be sooooo easy. create certain points in the world and ajust the max camera level so it scales down smoothly when coming near that points and place such points at every situation you think the camera exploids something and let the rest of the world watch. even further they could detatch the camera and make a free camera to begin with a specatator mode like record demo play demo demo2avi stuff like that setting up waypoints like malu05 did with his advanced camera giving people power over day time and weather for god sakes publish the damn world editor and let people create .. give everyone his own space to build in and call that the garrison that would be real housing. im getting carried away here :) thanks for the addon cheers

You do realize they have been working on a fix for the dizzyness some players are experiencing for the last week? But sure, think the worse and make up your own facts.

I had to zoom in before I could zoom out again but that was the only glitch.

Soylattes Aug 03, 2016 at 10:18 UTC - 1 likeDespite this making the game actually enjoyable to play again, as it always has been... I still ended up feeling dizzy and sick at the 50 zoom. Something is severely wrong with the rendering, FoV, camera, all of the above...
The fact that they are rushing out a hotfix to break this addon yet doing nothing to address the thousands of people feeling ill from just trying to play the live game is disgusting.
Time to find a new game.

Yeah, I guess I just don't want them to have an extra reason. If they break it, it should be clear they're breaking it strictly for the old distance *shrugs*. Anyway, thanks again. I haven't been able to play in weeks!

Even if it was hard capped at 50, Blizzard probably would have nuked the addon from orbit anyway... at least that was my reasoning behind not capping it

Keyimin Aug 03, 2016 at 01:15 UTC - 0 likesFirst, thank you so very much. This is a godsend! I'm wondering if you might consider actually capping the max distance at 50 so as not to, shall we say, push our luck beyond what we're already pushing it?
