Yeah I admit I have used mailboxes and flightmasters (from HN_FlightMasters) as markers for TomTom waypoints to quest hubs as well, but besides that, outside the cities, this addon could still serve its purpose. I suggest an option to hide/not register mailboxes in cities to prevent map clutter.
Sure, you can multi-track, but what if you are in a large city, and the nearest mailbox is further away from you than the minimap shows? Kind of nice to see them on the world map as well.
In Dalaran, you are tripping over mailboxes. But even with the new versions of capital cities, you aren't necessarily right near a mailbox. The other handy thing about mailboxes is that they are usually right outside of an inn, so if you are out in the wilderness, all you have to do is look at your world map, go to the icon, enter the building, log out, get rested XP.
Maybe I'm quibbling, but I still see the convenience of this plugin.
@Warcraftic: that issue was reported on the main HandyNotes ticket page. Fairly certain it has something to do with Astrolabe, since the bug only occurs in the new versions of capital cities, and it affects all icons: mailboxes, vendors, repair people, trainers, etc.

to my knowledge companion_update only fires for your own pets.
As far as unit_spellcast it not a combat log entry just the normal cast and arg1 is npc which according to docs is YOUR current target.
Indeed... though, do you check whether it's the own squire casting it, btw? Or a COMPANION_UPDATE firing from your own actions and not someone else summoning a pet?

kagaro Nov 27, 2010 at 20:35 UTC - 0 likesill look into it. I was thinking of just abandoning this addon all togther since you can multi track now and mailboxes are in the tracking list.
