DrawingBoard

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This is a point-and-click interface for managing healing or other assignments.
I developed it to handle healing assignments, but it is much more flexible than that.

I hope I got the usability right, but just in case: =)

How to use:
Open the board using /db.
Move players from your raid or custom assignments onto the drawing board. Then attach other players or custom frames to them.
Broadcasting a board currently takes the form

Quote:
Title
Prefix <assignment>: <assignee1>,<assignee1>, ...
....

Title, prefix and channel to broadcast are set in the board options. Setting no channel is for testing purposes.

new in 0.5: Boards are saved between sessions.
new in 0.6: You can share your board with all users of DB in your Raid. Modifications anyone makes are shared with everybody as well!

What would be great, is if you could actually "Draw" on the board. Akin to how AVR used to be. Would be a great raid tool for raid leaders in setting up positions for fights.

That is beyond the scope of this addon. I think I remember a similar one, though, where this was possible. Forgot the name, though. =)

Thank you for your report.
Thats an error usually caused by other errors before it. Please look, if your error catching addon reports anything before that one.

You might also try to delete the file <WoW-Directory>\WTF\Account\<AccountName>\SavedVariables\DrawingBoard.lua.
This helps if somehow an old configuration prevents DB from loading.

thanks for your response.
the error is new - myself and my officers all downloaded the mod for hte first time 3 days ago and we are all getting the lua error.
would we have an old configuration in our saved variables if we only got the mod recently?

i have just searched through my swatter and the only error related to drawing board that i am getting that is slightly different is this one

Hi!

I think I've found an error, wich might be our problem. Somehow I think nobody not using the deDE locale should have gotten DB to work, but well...

Please try the latest version.

how is the sending of raid icons handled? in our guild (mixed german/english clients), all players recieve in broadcasts the raidicon, of any is sent, but sending manually {star}/{stern} results in icons only on the matching clinets, the client in the "wrong" language gets only text in brackets.
How is that done?

can't seems to broadcast board into a guild channel? I get an error from ChatThrottleLib

Thanks for the feedback.
GUILD is a supported channel, so this should work. Maybe you mispelled something?
In the next release, there will be a dropdown box with all available channels.

Please test version 0.5rc1.
It may still contain bugs, since I rewrote most of the code.

DrawingBoard now saves boards between session! Rejoice! =)

I am thiking of some method of sharing boards with other DrawingBoard users in your raid. Comments? Suggestions?

Is there any possibility, that drawing board saves the boards t´ill the next raid?
So I only have to reassign a few players to the tanks or other tasks.

For example:
Right now I´m using macros to split up the Raid in different Groups for each Boss (Thorim hard mode 6 groups).
To do this with drawing board would be more comfortable, but only if i don´t have to assign 25 players for each boss in each ID.

I agree, I would love to have the whisper auto reply feature :) You've made a great addon, I love how flexible it is, compared to the other options out there! One thing I really miss, though, is the ability to assign "MT1" and have it say the name of whomever is assigned MT1 when it announces. If you can put that in there, I'll be using this addon exclusively for my assignments.
