After poking around the addon source code, i found out that it only handles events from _G.ChatTypeGroup and the event that gets triggered is CHAT_MSG_CHANNEL which is not inside the ChatTypeGroup table.
So I had to update the lua file to register for CHAT_MSG_CHANNEL event and in the event handler (FlashTab), add this workaround code:
local message, player, language, channelString, target, flags, a, channelNumber, channelName = ...
for frame_index, frame in pairs(CHAT_FRAMES) do
if event == "CHAT_MSG_CHANNEL" and frame.name == channelName then _G.FCF_StartAlertFlash(frame) UpdateChatFrame(frame_index) end

WaterlolWoW Aug 14, 2016 at 10:34 UTC - 0 likesCurrently I have a number of seperate chat tabs, One for Guild, one for Raid/Party, one for Whipsers, and one for a custom Global Channnel.
The tabs flash when there is new activity in the chat, however, whenever there is activity in the custom Global channel, the tab does not flash...
Thanks
