19 - Please fix Baggin's profiles
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create two Profiles
2. Set one Profile for one toon, and then log over and set the other profile for the other toon.
3. Log back to the first toon. ...the profile has been changed to the second toons profile.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect that the different profiles should load for the different toons.
Instead only one profile can be set as active for the entire account.
What version of the product are you using?
r407
Do you have an error log of what happened?
No.
Please provide any additional information below.
1. Profiles: Please fix Baggin's profiles
Hi, I love Baggins. I think it's a great utility and wonderfully customizable. I don't know if it's still actively being worked on, BUT, I have one MAJOR hang-up with it. The profiles are essentially useless. The active profile loads for every toon on a server. This means I can not have a profile where my AH bag comes up as default, and another profile where my Questing bag comes up as default, and another where my Raiding bag comes up as default. I can create these profiles, but I can't get them to come up on different toons. PLEASE FIX! PLEASE FIX! This is a major usability short-coming.

I had configured the All in one sorted profile for both bag and bank with additional categories. Mostly just using Baggins_Outfitter for my gear sets. When 3.3 dropped, the profile no longer loaded as modified. I checked the saved variables file and my defined config is still present, just not loading.
Also, right clicking on the minimap button and choosing the open up the config no longer functions.

to get past this and have seperate configurations for each character you need to go into "/bagins waterfall" to the menu option "Profile", change "Choose" to the character you are currently on (<Character> of <Realm>) then if you have previously set up baggins for that toon and saved it in the save profile section, reload what you saved it as. this allows character independant configurations.
although changing this makes the items panel in waterfall not work properly at the moment.

oneplus999 Aug 16, 2009 at 20:20 UTC - 0 likesI don't think that this is actually a bug; however, I think that the concept of profile is reused inappropriately within baggins. When you go to the configuration window, you have Load, Save, Delete, etc. These really should be referred to as "Configurations maybe". Then there is also a Profile section at the bottom, which is a separate concept. That is where you can determine which configuration will be loaded based on the toon you are using. Change this from Default to Character, and your toon will have a unique setup. Then when you go up to "Load profile", it will change only for that toon.
