The replacement provides several unique features, the first being an in-game talent calculator.

Contents

Feature List

  • See the complete talent tree on a single frame.
  • Create templates, for your class and, optionally, other classes too.
  • Set a specific template as a target, and see it when you're spending your next talent point on level up.
  • Apply complete templates with a single click, after a talent wipe.
  • Share your current build with other, or any template you've made.
  • Import templates directly from the Blizzard Talent calculator, or from wowhead.
  • Export templates as URL to wowhead or the Blizzard Talent calculator.
  • See other's template if they have LibRockComm installed.

In order to get access to talent trees for all classes, you must also install Talented_Data.

Getting Started

How to make a new template

  • Pull up your Talents window ('N')
  • You'll probably start in Normal Mode. Switch to Template Mode by hitting "Mode -> Switch to template mode".
  • Create a new template by clicking "Template -> New Template -> New empty template"
  • Make the template editable by clicking "Mode -> Edit Template"
  • Enter in your talents
  • Name the template by editing the text box to the right of the "Template" menu (hit enter when you're done typing the name)

How to respec to a template

  • Unlearn your talents from a trainer
  • Pull up Talents window ('N')
  • You'll probably start in Normal Mode. Switch to Template Mode by hitting "Mode -> Switch to template mode".
  • Select the template that you want to apply by hitting "Template -> (name of your template)"
  • Verify that the talent tree being displayed is the one you want
  • Hit "Mode -> Apply Template"
  • Talented will ask you to confirm that you want to spend your talent points
  • Remember to retrain your max rank spells!

Afraid of bugs in Talented?

Will talented eat your hard earned cash by learning talents you don't want?

I certainly hope not.

To my knowledge, there has only been a few hours where one version of Talented, with Talented_Data, could spend points in the wrong talent for the paladin class just after the 2.1 patch hit the live realms. This won't happen again, as there is several checks made to make sure that an outdated version of Talented_Data is not loaded.

Talented has never, even during early development, spent a talent point on a wrong talent for me. I take this very seriously, I use the addon myself. I can't make any promises, or tell you that it can't bug, but be assured that every safeguard I could think of has been taken to make sure this would not happen. If by any chance this would happen to you, then I certainly want to know about it. So please post about it on the forum.
