nQuestLog allows you to track quests in a “minion” allowing you to tailor your questing path and a simple quest detail window.

nQL core features

• Highlighting of quests when near the NPC for turn in
• See which other party members are on the same quest(s) (in a tooltip)
• See how many more of the hovered/selected items are needed (in a tooltip)
• Sorting by zone, with options to show zone level and to color by difficulty
• Minion customizations for the border, background, highlighting, font, padding, and window size
• A FuBar plugin showing the current number of quests in your log and menu-based nQL options
• Menu is available via minimap icon if FuBar is not installed, or via /nql, /nquest, /nquestlog chat commands

nQL optional modules

BlizzardFrames

• Adds quest levels to Blizzard quest log and NPC dialog.
• Greys icons for incomplete quests in NPC dialog.
• Adds quest givers to Blizzard quest log.
• Hides Blizzard quest tracker.
• Allows changing the Blizzard quest log scale.
• Allows moving the Blizzard quest log and saves the new position.

Coloring

• Options to change colors and transparency
• Includes minion frame, text, and notifications

Comments

• Shows detailed quest information from LightHeaded (and MobMap, if available).
• Includes: quest level and name, colored by difficulty; quest ID and URL, for Wowhead/Thottbot/Allakhazam; required level; sharable; quest start and end, including waypoints or Wowhead/Thottbot/Allakhazam URL for items that start or end quests; xp, including reduced xp at current level if applicable; reputation, colored by current status; quest series, allowing selection of other quests in the series to view each of their details; Wowhead comments.
• Also includes (if MobMap is installed): quest type (solo, group, dungeon, raid, etc.); quest faction; quest zone; quest rewards, both money and items, including money rewarded at max level instead of xp.

DetailsFrame

• Replacement quest detail window, allowing you to see information important to the selected quest.
• Integrates with MobMap so that quest objectives are clickable and will be mapped via MobMap when clicked. With Cartographer, it is then possible to left-click on any of the white squares created by MobMap to get a waypoint.

Highlight

• Highlights quests related to the current zone.
• Includes quests from other zones in which the current zone is mentioned (i.e. "Go to <zone>").

Notifications

• Available for various events, such as getting a quest item, finishing an objective, and/or completing a quest.
• Many notification options thanks to SinkLib (chat frame, raid warning, scrolling/sticky text).
• Option to play a sound on quest completion.
• Option to add quest name to objective notifications.
• Disables Blizzard quest objective notifications.

QuestGivers

• Shows (in the DetailsFrame) distance from the NPC from whom the quest originated.
• If Cartographer or TomTom is installed, this is converted into a clickable waypoint.

SmartVisibility

• Options for automatic showing/hiding of quests and quest objectives, based on various events.

Tooltips

• Option to set minion tooltip anchor
• Options to add information about the quest a specific item/mob belongs to when moused over.
• Integrates with MobMap, allowing quest objective display in almost any quest mob tooltip, including drop rates and filtering of invalid drops.

Recommended addons

• FuBar
  • Provides easy access to the nQuestLog configuration menu and gets rids of the clutter of minimap buttons.
  • A count of completed quests, hidden quests, active quests, and maximum quests is available at a glance via the FuBar display.
• Cartographer and its included Cartographer_Waypoints module
  • Displays a 3D waypoint arrow when coordinates are clicked in the nQuestLog Details or Comments frames.
• TomTom
  • Adds a waypoint to the minimap when coordinates are clicked in the nQuestLog Details or Comments frames.
• LightHeaded
  • Required for the Comments module to function. Provides in-game quest detail from the Wowhead website.
• MobMap
  • Provides additional quest details for the Comments frame.
  • Allows quest objectives in the Details frame to be clicked so that the associated mobs are mapped on the world map.
  • Provides mob loot tables so that most quest objectives can be added to mob tooltips.
• DoubleWide
  • Converts the standard Blizzard quest log to a double-pane layout.
• PartyToGo
  • Provides party quest notifications.
