Grid/FAQ
From WowAce Wiki
- Is there a 'configuration mode' for Grid?
- Grid relies heavily on SecureHeaderGroup code in the Blizzard UI, which has no support for simulation. Consider using Alterac Valley or Eye of the Storm to test out your raid addons.
- Why does the health bar seem to get "stuck" sometimes?
- It sounds like you have a status assigned to the health bar with a higher priority than unit health.
- Each indicator can only show one status at a time. If you go into the advanced frame options, you can enable 'health bar color' as an additional indicator so that you can show aggro (or any other status with a color) without affecting the health bar value.
- Why doesn't the incoming heal indicator always work?
- The incoming heal indicator is using [LibHealComm-3.0]. If there are other people in your raid using Grid or other addons which include [LibHealComm-3.0], it will use the addon communication channel to let other LibHealComm-3.0 users know who you are healing.
- Is it possible to add Insert spell name here as a buff/debuff?
- The aura module has an option to add any buff/debuff you'd like to add - all you'll need to know is the exact name of the buff. People might use this to add soulstones, special raid boss debuffs,... which is why we thought its better to provide an easy option to add any kind of aura instead of pre-creating a list of 20 (de)buffs.
- Status indicators don't seem to be updating when someone moves into/out of range!
- The range for status indicators is only checked when a status is changed.
- Why do I have to pick a raid layout manually?
- In TBC you will not be able to move/hide/show the SecureRaidHeaders while in combat. Requiring the user to pick a layout rather than dynamically adding groups was an intentional design decision to deal with this. It is possible for an external addon to pick a layout for you, but it should be careful to avoid doing so in-combat.
- How do I increase the number of letters displayed for a player's name?
- Grid -> Frame -> Center Text Length, both on the menu and in the configuration frame.
