Classic WotLK: Spec Detection not working (whatever position; class icon, text or CDtracker) #224

    Good night

This addon is by far my favorite in the whole game, and I used it above the rest all the time while I played Retail WoW.

In Classic WotLK though, the spec detection (in general) seems bugged even when the arena match has started; not retrieving information at all, retrieving information too late, retrieving false information or directly not letting me set some basic stuff related to Specs. This includes not allowing me to track any Cooldown related to Talent Specializations; it just shows the Baseline ones, even if I've selected things like Pain Suppression (Discipline).

I've tried different methods in order to track something related to specializations but it just seems bugged. I even set the Max Mana (short) in order to distinguish casters from melees, but this is not a solution for every class; Elemental Shamans and Resto Shamans have both a big mana pool, per example.

This is an important issue for what I consider one of the best addons out there:
Knowing enemies's specs is crucial to focus or CC. Frost Mage does't equal Arcane Mage, etc.

I'm not into LUA or making addons at all, but as a regular user I've noticed that the Race/Class/Spec section of this addon seems just a copy-paste from Retail; having things like Pandaren. This could be caussing the problem (or not), but I repeat: I'm not a programmer.

Today I saw that you updated this addon in CurseForge, so I must suppose you're somewhat back there, so I decided to expose my issue.

Please, give some love to this marvelous addon for us Wrath of the Lich King players... Trinkets are outdated too.

Thank you for your consideration and excuse my basic English,

    Josh

Because in Wrath, spec doesn't equate cooldowns.

There are hybrid specs, so you can't guess what spells someone has.

The cooldowns will be detected as they are used. It's not like you're never gonna see Pain Sup on the Priest frame.

But it's impossible to see e.g. a rogue using prep and going "oh, they're a sub rogue!". You have shockadins, preg paladins, prep/cb rogues, elemental mages, ... In TBC there were also disc/shadow hybrids (foregoing painsup), though I guess that wouldn't happen as much in wrath.

I understand... Spec Detection is related to how Specs are selected and used in Retail from Cata to beyond. :(

Couldn't make an alternative where if someone has X talent (Bladestorm, per example) is detected as an X spec (Arms Warrior)?
Could fail sometimes, but it mostly would tell you the Spec with no problem 99% of the time.
In fact, in Retail you can see enemies before the arena even starts but in WotLK you have to wait until doors open. I can imagine why but I don't really know.

Too much work? I'd love to know how to solve this but sadly I'm just a player.

Thank you for your reply, Vendethiel.
I don't like Retail but this is driving me crazy.
