What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Red arrow appears when first logging into game
2. disable all tracking options, arrow disappears.
3. Enable any tracking option (e.g. mailboxes) and the arrow reappears

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect that the arrow only appears when you're tracking something you can harvest (herbs, ore, dark soil, etc.).

This happens on toons that don't have herbalism/mining. I can understand why you might want to enable it for other resources, but I had assumed that the guide arrow would only appear when tracking something that can be depleted, not static stuff like mailboxes.

This tracking is for misc stuff like Dark Soil and the Treasure Troves on Isle of Thunder. These can be disabled in the bloodhound2 options the same way you can disable tracking for any other node. I enabled these for any type of tracking because as you said, toons without mining/herbalism tend to want to know where to find these as well.

I will try and find a way to make these only work when enabled by the player though.

Fair enough, will disable them all by hand in the meantime.
