I have tryed several character, I like to explore all. I am not expertise my opinion not the best in one but not bad to compare .Dk tank is no as good as paladin Defense. But my DK Blood talents all, and lvl 75 work fine. I have macro "/castsequence reset=combat/target" one with runes spell, other with runic power spells, other with area damage and the rest of spells on bars when some of runes or runic power come down, automatic is working, and runic power with the talent is fine.
Just started DK tanking a couple of weeks ago. Tanking is stressful. The whole grp is depending on you to stay in sync with the healer to survive. Any DK tank right now is just learning how-to. It takes a while to get any class run right. DK's especially Runes and Runic power. So I compare my DK tank to my Warrior and find that my DK tank cam crowd control better, is a little less effective on the boss but not much. Timing is everything with a DK runes to pop and runic pwr to watchcockpit control is much more hands on than my warrior. I believe they are gettingg a bad rep for early blues on the learning curve. Some cross-over knowledge from my warrior helps but it's just generalities. I've tanked every Heroic now and received my PuG pet from Blizz with my DK so it can be done. I've seen a lot of people blame the DK tank right now because they are an easy target. More people will get better with them. More will begin to recognize that the same rules apply to tanking with a DK versus others, watch ur aggro, mitigate threat you pull from the tank, dps must be there...etc etc. In the end it's all good it's a game. Go out and enjoy it, be patient, help out, leave the anger to the mobs. IMO
Only reason I voted DKs a little lower is because they start out at 55, and dont take as much dedication to hit 80.
Lots of DKs I run into in the LFG random are TERRIBLE.
(More than any other class for some reason.)
I went with a DK tank that only used D+D and auto attack....
"[And sadly, so many people aren't playing warrior tanks well (at least on my server and in my LFD groups) that it skews the voting, imo.]"
I would go as far as saying that many people do not play ANY of their classes well. That's why I voted not for the average player, but how much would I respect a skilled player that goes for a certain class/spec combination. That way, seeing a skilled Warrior Tank earns more respect than a skilled Warrior DPS.
Looks like the lol of ranged rogues and melee hunters are dead last lolz. And sadly, so many people aren't playing warrior tanks well (at least on my server and in my LFD groups) that it skews the voting, imo.

lol warri tanks in front of druid and palas, so just see ICC which tanks still stand during fight's when the healer is in trouble like lord mar'gar. and don't forget how easy it's with a warri to maintain the trash groups ;-)
It seems I am not the only one that thinks the class/role combination that gets the most respect are Warrior Tank, Druid Tank, Priest Healer, Druid Healer, Shaman Healer and Mage. However, that is only when you find a skilled player.
Sadly, most of the players are far from skilled, and that would drop that respect from 5 (or 4 in Druid Tank and Mage) to a 1 or even a 0...
