BTW, for all of you who are confused about the lack of rounded corners. Get a real browser, IE (even IE8) is so rediculously behind the times...

The site is using CSS3 which isn't supported by IE to make rounded corners, it looks plain because of this. Use Firefox / Chrome / Opera to view the site and you'll understand.

Edit: Here's a screenshot of what it should look like: Image...

From what I recall from talking to ckknight, IE isn't really officially supported past basic functionality but don't quote me...

I'm not sure how I feel about the color scheme. It seems... off... I think it's the blue.

Also, as I'm typing this comment the comment box is growing huge. Adding lines with almost every character I type. I used ctrl+shift+end to make sure there wasn't any invisible whitespace.

Last complaint is some of the "headers," like the thing that says "Post a comment" right now. They are stored in boxes above the related area. Those boxes usually partially obstruct the object above them. I will take a snap shot right now to show you... pressing ctrl+a to show highlight.

This is on IE 8, on Vista 32-bit.

Edit: Actually allowing Flash to run hasn't fixed anything. However, running it on Firefox has. Unfortunately, I hate Firefox. I actually saw how the web-site is supposed to look on Firefox though, and it seemed better. Still not feeling the blue though.

Edit 2: Using IE 8's "Compatibility Mode" fixes the header objects obstructing other things on the page. However, the "rounded corners" are still square. I am not begging for a fix though, just supplying information. No sense in reprogramming a website for one faulty browser if it is IE's fault.

The new layout looks like for a 3 year old -.-
I want the old one back!

It looks very generic. I clicked on a link in a subscription notification email, and initially thought I'd mistakenly been directed to a "search spam portal" website.

The gray gradient tabs with dark gray text are extremely difficult to read even at 200% zoom. Overall, the contrast is even worse than the old layout. The condensed forms of Arial are less readable than the more open, rounded forms of Verdana, even at high magnification. Verdana was designed explicitly for on-screen viewing; Arial was not.

I don't see any of the rounded corners mentioned in the announcement, just squares and gradients and a bunch of different shades and things that look like buttons but aren't even interactiable (like the "Post a comment" header above the box I'm typing in).

The category listing is inefficient, especially at high magnification. The thumbnails of varying sizes and dimensions look sloppy. The category icons are too big and are less usable than a text listing of categories, since I have to mouse over each one to figure out that the "yellow man" icon represents the "Class" category or the priests' Greater Heal spell icon represents the "Healer" category. The "snippet" for each addon listed is just a jumbled block of text pulled from the main description with no regard for formatting. Improvements could include showing the TOC description instead, or no description at all; showing the thumbnail only on mouseover; and listing categories using text, not arbitrarily chosen icons.

Additionally, the mouseover popup calendar on the category listing is annoying.

On project pages themselves, the "Project Management" link is prominently placed above basic details about the addon even if I am in no way affiliated with the project. 99% of people viewing a project page who are not an author on the project do not care about the status of the packager. The blue-on-gray links for "Download" "Install" etc are also very hard to read.

All in all, I'd have to say the new layout is several times worse than the old layout, and that it's really frustrating when I've spent - quite literally - years providing detailed feedback to you guys at Curse about how you could make your sites more usable and accessible for people with even such minor impairments as nearsightedness, astigmatism, and colorblindness, and every change just makes things worse. :(

It's perfect. The categories are well done and I love the mouse-over pictures of the addons. It's much better organized and easier to sort through.

looks ok. But I was used to the link standing out on the project page because it was highlighted if I went there before. Is there anyway to mark addons I usually get?

Not too fond of it myself.

Also, this text box I'm typing in will not stop growing bigger... it grew to around 80 lines long before I finished typing this.

    IE8 64bit

Nice to see the new layout has more issues with Opera than the old version.

If i try to sign in it says: There was an error with cookies, please try again. (like in the old version.) But new is ... the projects site shows up for a short moment and vanishs a second later (after i did a reload of the page) ... only blue screen with the logo is left and the filters bar. try it yourself install Opera and enjoy ^^

I dont want to use IE but i need to do if i want to post here. In IE it looks quite nice

Would be great if it could be fixed

It looks alright, but the old one looks a lot more professional and 'clean'. The top tabs look like an MSPaint job =(
