Posted by Kaelten Aug 28, 2012 at 15:34 UTC

Today World of Warcraft releases the Mist of Pandaria pre-expansion patch. This version contains a large portion of the world-wide changes that we'll be seeing with Mists. If you're looking for more details about the game changes this post over on MMO-Champion has a lot of info.

Update:
Jamash in #wowuidev extracted the UI and the TOC# is 50001

Good luck today as all the addons get updated.

5.0.4 Glyph UI Taint

Posted by Ackis Sep 04, 2012 at 01:02 UTC

This has been fixed.

Patch 5.0.4 introduced an annoying bug to deal with.

Blizzard accidentally declared "_" to be global, so if your addon uses "_" as a global it will cause the GlyphUI frame to not work.

It's an easy fix, instead of:

local class
_, class = UnitClass("player")

Just declare _ as a local variable:

local _, class
_, class = UnitClass("player")

or you can achieve it another way using the select method:

local class = select(2, UnitClass("player"))

Using local variable over global variables is good addon practice for a variety of reasons, some of which include speed of access, interactions with other addons/Blizzard UI, and just not polluting the global namespace.

Good news however is that this is already fixed on the beta and should be slated for patch 5.0.5.

Mikk wrote a nice little utility which helps find global leakage in your addons. You can get it from WowAce here.

Rolling Upgrades of Subversion Repositories on Monday, October 29th Starting at 15:00 UTC (completed)

Posted by prencher Oct 26, 2012 at 15:18 UTC

Hi guys,

About a month ago we upgraded to Subversion 1.7. On Monday, we will be doing rolling upgrades of all of our Subversion repositories to the latest on disk format. There will be no overall interruption of service, although specific repositories will be unavailable while they are being upgraded.

This will give access to the latest Subversion features for all repositories.

We will be starting this process at 15:00 UTC and expect it to take around 10 hours to upgrade all repositories.

Note: If you attempt to access your repository while it is being upgraded, it will fail.
