WeakAuras

WeakAuras is a powerful and flexible framework that allows you to display highly customizable graphics on your screen to indicate buffs, debuffs, and a whole host of similar types of information. It was originally meant to be a lightweight replacement for Power Auras, but it now incorporates many features that Power Auras does not, while still remaining more efficient and easy to use.

Features include:

  • An intuitive and powerful configuration interface
  • Custom textures including all textures from Power Auras and the new Cataclysm spell alerts
  • Progress bars and textures that show the exact duration of auras
  • Displays based on auras, health, power (mana, rage, soul shards, holy power, etc.), cooldowns, combat events, runes, totems, items, and many other triggers
  • Preset and user-defined animations
  • Custom side-effects such as chat announcements or sounds
  • Grouping, which allows multiple displays to be positioned and configured at the same time
  • CPU optimizations such as conditional loading/unloading of displays, modularity, and prevention of full aura scanning
  • Powerful customization options, such as animation paths, on-show/on-hide code, and custom triggers, for Lua-savvy users

To open the options window, type "/wa" or "/weakauras"

Note: WeakAuras works better with more media!

    @Gragagrogog: Go

    Yeah, but it only happens during a boss fight, reg questing or during pvp combat 3d textures stay solid until used. Thats why i think it might be a bug.

    Spell name is case sensitive, so "Haunt" instead of "haunt". It seems like animations are reseting each time trigger returns true...

    Trigger Question, i'm attempting to Track when i get a spell off. Currently i've set up:

    Trigger = type event, Event = combat log, spell = cast success, source unit = player, destination unit = target, spell name = haunt, hide=timed duration=1sec

    player class = warlock

    actions = play sound, custom = master sound file path = Interface\AddOns\WeakAuras\Media\PwnBusinessWarlock\Haunt.mp3

    i have this on hide aswell just to see if it'l make a sound. Soul swap one works after i added .mp3 before i tried with just one slash / cause i thought two slashes didnt seem right but .mp3 made it work.

    anyways, i'm trying to make a sound effect play when i use a spell like haunt(1950's horror movie high pitch clip), fel flame (star craft zerg spit) and so on. i have no problem doing this with an aura buff / debuff but i haven't done any on spell cast success triggers. i'm just using a Text aura to like Flash spell name i'm using then trigger a sound clip.

    @Gragagrogog: Go alright, while i'm working on that, i may of found a bug. okay, on a death knight i setup a scent of blood tracker for this 3d texture SPELLS/FireBolt_Missile_Low.m2. i created like 5 for each stack of scent of blood. however, it works fine on a test dummy, quest mobs and pvp but during a boss fight every single lit 3d texture blinks over and over when i attack like its counting a global cd.

    display= 3d texture SPELLS/FireBolt_Missile_Low.m2 Aura, scent of blood - stack count checkmarked >= 1-5

    Class - death knight

    @Twopro: Go Sry, I was mistaken. Should be single backslash, not double, also ".mp3" have to be included. (And everytime you add a new file, restart wow in order to rescan.)

    If youre adding a ton of custom sounds, you should consider using SharedMedia_MyMedia which can add how many new sounds you want into the dropdown menu... Just download SharedMedia, instructions are inside a text file in the addon folder.

    @Gragagrogog: Go i tried that, play sound, custom - on show & on end. i made sure the sound channel i was using was turned up aswell. it seems wa. doesn't want to play the sound mp3 sound clips, i checked wa. sound files and the ones i'm using and its the same type. any chance i could just type up or multiply the sound clips code and just throw sound clips in "sounds"? if so which lua file contains sound path for the "sounds" file folder? anyways, thanks in advance.

    also, when i tested i made sure to tripple check folders and path names, i restarted wow and after putting in code i reloaded ui every time i put in a code to save it.

    @Twopro: Go

    File paths in wow all have root in the wow folder, so you path should be:

    Interface\AddOns\WeakAuras\Media\PwnBusinessWarlock\Soul_Swap_Male.mp3

    i was looking for an autoshot timer so i figured the swing timer as trigger should manage that... but it apears hunters autoshot isnt included in the addon?

    I would just like to make a small suggestion: on the load tab for auras, it would be really convenient if you had options to load auras based on your character race or professions like you have for classes. This would help me immensely. Thank you!

    fyi Text Auras still move around on every single character i have. i've opened weak auras multiple times changed it back to where i had it. /reload ui and its magically moved again. i think for just the Text Auras you need to just have sliders cause this Drag and stretch doesn't seem to register correct with saves.
