WeakAuras 2

13 - Custom Action functions

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create any aura.
2. Goto actions tab, Check 'Custom' (this is for either on load or on hide)
3. Add just a blank function (or a simple text output)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
For the custom function to work, doesn't even output a chatframe message if you try. Auras will trigger but not untrigger as well because of this.

What version of the product are you using?
2.0

Do you have an error log of what happened?
A red text error can be seen below the Custom Code box;
[string "return function() function()... "]:1: '<name>' expected near '('

Please provide any additional information below.
This is even if its just a empty function.

    @ccKep: Go

    If it auto-embeds like that, how do you get a function like this to work: function(event,time,type,_,_,sourcename,_,_,_,destname,_,_,spellId,spellname,_) ... end

    @ccKep: Go Thanks, I see that better when i goto the acutal saved variables file for weak auras.. odd that these areas for custom are different from all the rest, which is why I posted on the forums about documentation.

    You're probably doing something like this:

    function() ... stuff ... end

    Though WeakAuras actually embeds your code automatically in a function() ... end block. In short: Just write the lua stuff you want to happen directly in the custom action box.

    Edit: Why is something as simple as this still tagged as "New - Issue has not had initial review yet." for 4 days? I thought WA was forked to WA2 so that someone would actually continue to maintain it, instead it's exactly the same authors? I fail to see the reason for the fork in this case. Don't get me wrong, I'm not demanding anything - I know this is a hobby and you guys are not getting paid to maintain it. I just don't understand why there's so little communication asking for help etc.... I bet there are alot of people (me included) that'd like to help on the project, you just got to ask.
