Creates a search bar to search through a vendor's items.
You are now able to find much faster the item you want.
Please update to the last version (4.0) to enjoy a way better version of VendorSearch! (see changelog)
VendorSearch also allows you to filter the items in a vendor frame. You can choose to hide the things you can't wear, can't buy etc...
Depending on your settings, you will be able to see only the items corresponding to your search, or just hide by opacity-changing the items that are not corresponding to your search.
Since version 4.0, the interface has been completely enhanced to focus on what needs to be done : search.
It's now faster and more efficient than before. Please download version 4.0 now !
The dropdown menu is now gone, as users used 99% of the time the "by name" search.
Since version 1.98, the frame is refreshed with the right results when you change page.
Since version 1.9, you have more filters to precise your search : you can search by name, type, subtype, price <, price >, rarity. (see screenshots).
Since version 1.5, you can choose your own type of "hiding mode". If you want to see only what you're looking for, there is a "Full Hiding Mode", which just keeps what you want. For those who still want to see what the Merchant sells, but the results of the search at the same time, the "Opacity Hiding Mode" is perfect. It set the alpha of the non-result items a bit lower so the items you're looking for are like "highlighted".

I don't now how WoW handles this (if you can read the tooltip information when not hovering the item) but e.g. RatingBuster seems to be able to read the stats from the tooltip and displays additional information - so at least in that area it seems to be retrieveable somehow.
If it's still not possible I guess looking for the color + fading out known recipes will help a lot, too.

adriweb Jan 01, 2010 at 15:47 UTC - 0 likesI looked up for this kind of info and how they could be retrieved but there is like no way it's possible to do... But at least I could actually make it easier to people with the subType filter because I can filter items like red gems, meta gems, etc. but I can't give you what they will give....

adriweb Dec 29, 2009 at 11:12 UTC - 0 likesI will see if there is any way to know what stats the recipes give, and then, if there is, it sure will be implemented :D

razu2 Dec 29, 2009 at 10:16 UTC - 0 likesIs there a possibility to filter by stats? That would be a *huge* help for e.g. the jewelcrafting vendor, so that you can search for e.g. "stamina" and get all recipes with that stat highlighted.

Ackis Jan 10, 2009 at 20:50 UTC - 0 likesI started work on something like this a while ago (just no time to finish).
http://www.wowace.com/projects/welfareepics/
The concept behind this was to filter out items that you can't use on vendors.

adriweb Jan 08, 2009 at 20:47 UTC - 0 likesOh, yes, it's a real project :D
I just didn't really get how to deal with SVN :D
The graphical part is 3/4 done, and the textual part is completely done :D
I am going to upload the right files and all that stuff as soon as I am getting it :D
Don't worry, it's a real project and it works !
(I have screenshots :P)

Zidomo Jan 08, 2009 at 19:31 UTC - 0 likesYou tagged a "release" (0.1) that contains no files? :P The r1 Alpha contains no files either. Is this a real project?
