Skada Damage Meter

Damage mode

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular. The built-in modes can all be toggled on/off.

  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.
  • Class and role icons.
  • Stop/Resume fight segments to discount irrelevant data.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many "plug-in" addons out there that add functionality, such as:

There is a page with API information here.

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada.

Both the Alpha and Release versions seem to be broken for the DPS sections. The alpha version (r168) throws Damage.lua:361: table index is nil bug, i'll get the lua error from the release version asap.

I have made a new report ticket. I see there are comments below here that show it as fixed; it was not so as of the current release version for me last night.

Return command line report options please.
    (Like /skada report raid)
It's takes a much time to go a lot of sub menu's and check a lot of things.
Or make clickable text [Skada] to title, which will popup report window, where you can check anything without travel to submenu's (like Report window in Recount)

And little question, it's okay when I reset a big data after Naxx, Skada still takes 2.50mb of memory? Just wondering.

Anyway this addon are great, using it from early versions  :)

    bug fix for Report(1.1-3)

Whisper bug fix in Skada.lua line 1009 change to Skada:Report(report_channel,,,,

Custom channel bug fix in Skada.lua line 1096 replace with

    local list = {GetChannelList()} for i=1,table.getn(list)/2 do info.text = list[i*2] info.checked = ( == list[i*2]) info.func = function() = list[i*2]; = "channel" end UIDropDownMenu_AddButton(info, level) end

and in Skada:Report function add these under "function Skada:Report(channel, chantype, report_mode_name, report_set, max)"

    if(chantype == "channel") then local list = {GetChannelList()} for i=1,table.getn(list)/2 do if( == list[i*2]) then channel = list[i*2-1] break end end end

Thanks for the great work! I just replace Recount with it!!!

    tested 1.1-1 today.

    no errors

its really coming together, nice work. I know a couple of items that I need have already been planned by author or others have suggested, but I thought I would do a simple side by side with results from Skada and Recount.

    1. dps 2145.9 1871.1
    2. time 59.45s (89%) 14:19 - 14:21
    3. dmg 144,076 144,076
    4. sum view count,dmg,% (n/a yet),dmg,%
    5. details hit, crit hit, crit
    6. details count count
    7. details min,avg,max (n/a yet)
    8. DoT uptime count, % of spells % of fighttime, no count

    Suggestions or Enhancements:

    1. Add total fight duration in secs, along with current start/stop times.
    2. on DPS view is it possible to put players fight time in seconds.
    3. add count to Summary DMG View, so we can see the number of spells or DoT and total dmg with %percentage.
    4. on Detail DMG View, I think you talked about adding min/avg/max to view. That would be awesome.
    5. on DoT Uptime view, I am not sure what the percentage values mean. I was hoping they were showing the actual DoT count as % of potential. For example, as Shadow Priest, I usually do a fast calc on DoT uptime by taking the fight time / 3 = approx count of DoTs.
    6. Show an Activity View of all players fight time and maybe ending combat if possible (connected to death), so we can see who died early or is slacking.

    Thanks for the above considerations,

and keep up the good work.

p.s I am a nub at forum formatting; tried to get the table to align (sigh)
