How to Add Localizations

Adding a new localization can be a bit tricky.

Locales are broken down in to 2 parts really, Quest Titles and Everything Else. The Everything Else part is rather straight forward, all the locales that have to be done by hand are in their own Name space on the Web Application under the Default Namespace

As for the Quest Titles, there is an in-game method to this madness. You will need a Alpha Version of the addon found via the project files page or available via Curse Client's feature of installing Alpha versions.

Generating Locale Data In-game

  • Open up the in-game menu. ( /socd or Right click the LDB feed )
  • Select the "Quest Name Scanner" tab.
  • Click "Start Tooltip Scanning". You can enable the debug under Module Control to watch the process, just remember to turn it off.
  • When completed, select "Export to Copy paste Frame" (you will need to more the Options window out of the way) When the frame comes up from there you should be able to just copy everything ( CTL+C ) and paste it into the Import Localization Box here on the website for your localization. Don't worry about breaking them apart by name space, the web interface will account for that.

Also note there are a few Localizations that are male / female tense specific and will need special attention. Generally speaking, for languages that do not have this distinction the option will be the same. In the Web App you will see this distinction marked by a (M) or a (F) as the base key, however the translation needs to be exact as you would see in game with out the (M/F) ending. You'll see this still listed via the "untranslated" column for your locale. If you do find one that is missing, please open a ticket about it.
