This is an Ace3 addon using LibDataBroker (I display it with Bazooka, that keeps track of the instance IDs saved against your characters. Getting confused about which of your toons is saved to which instance is a thing of the past! The addon keeps track of all the instances you've ever been saved to, and can function like a todo-list if you like.
If you'd like to see the instance IDs or the time left until they are reset, hover the mouse over the Normal or Heroic indicator for that instance in the tooltip. You'll see a smaller tooltip with all the extra details.
Please discuss it on the forums, help with localization and report or vote on issues and requests.
Known Issues
If you are experiencing tooltip duplication with DockingStation, be sure to disable DockingStation's tooltip scaling features for SavedInstances. All times are stored based on your computer's local time. This means times may be off by an hour around the Daylight Savings switch. You can always just open the Blizzard raid window to trigger an update.
History
v2.5 adds the ability to manually keep track of encounters that you have completed per instance lockout
v2.4 adds the option to colour indicator text by the class of the toon it belongs to, which can be used to help make the tooltip more clear.
v2.3 has been updated for WoW 3.2 and all the associated changes to instance difficulties. Instances can now be categorised by players and these categories can be displayed in any custom order. Instance data can be manually deleted from the DB if users wish.
v2.2 now has ID and expiry details shown in a tooltip for each indicator.
v2.1.3 bumps the version for WoW 3.1. Also, you can now configure the Normal and Heroic indicators.
v2.1 dropped support for FuBar. You can now choose whether new instances remain in the tooltip "todo-list" when they aren't saved by default (or not).
v2.0 was a complete rewrite switching from LibRock-1.0 and Tablet-2.0 to Ace3 and LibQTip-1.0. The contents of the tooltip were reorganised to be more readable, compact and customisable.
Roadmap
- Define encounters per instance and check them off as you go.
- Remember who else was saved to the same lockout ID.
- Display window: allow all information to be displayed in a separate window.
- Configurable character column headings: truncate the names and/or use icons.
- Instance reporting: some method for players to quickly share what they're saved to.
- Premade (localised) instance DB.
- Class-coloured columns: optional.

jokeyrhyme Sat, 31 Oct 2009 02:40:35@Excelis:
Thanks for the heads up. The minimap icon should be fixed in v2.5-beta3. Let me know if it's still broken for you. I recently split the configuration stuff into its own file, and this is one of the things that needed adjusting.

Excelis Fri, 30 Oct 2009 13:25:02In v2.5-beta2 after I wiped saved variables I find I'm unable to turn off the minimap button. Am I just overlooking this control?
Also using Chinchilla v2.0.8 and DockingStation 0.3.2. I'll look for updates of those just in case.

Tarlinras Wed, 19 Aug 2009 16:04:26As you say Joker, Alphas are Alphas, but in the latest release using DockingStation, I find a small tooltip migration problem. If I mouse over SavedInstances then mouse to the left or right to another plugin then back to SavedInstances, it migrates the player name(s) and their respective columns farther and farther away from the categories and instance names on the left side. If I then mouse over SavedInstances and when I leave the tooltip have my mouse exit on the bottom of the tooltip, it does not cause this problem, and each time I exit on the bottom of the tooltp, it will reset any of this migration that occurs. It's not causing an LUA error so I hope that explains the problem well enough.

jokeyrhyme Tue, 18 Aug 2009 10:00:56Avoid using the Alphas unless you're really impatient. :) The Releases will upgrade your SavedVariables file assuming you were using the last Release, so if you try out Alphas you might have issues that can only be fixed by erasing the SavedInstances.lua WTF file. The Betas are usually safer because the file format is fixed by the time I get that far.
That said...
@Arkive: the bug you've reported was a localisation issue which I've fixed with r90.
With a little bit of advice from some Lua gurus I'll be able to move toward making a Release soon. :)

Arkive Mon, 17 Aug 2009 22:59:17Latest alpha gives the following error on login:
[2009/08/17 18:56:58-11-x1]: AceLocale-3.0: SavedInstances: Missing entry for 'Character column style': SavedInstances-r89 (r89)\SavedInstances.lua:706: in main chunk
Mod seems to function properly though.

jokeyrhyme Thu, 13 Aug 2009 15:20:01v2.3.0-beta7 had a funny bug with the indicator tooltips. Looking at them a second time would cause Lua errors, but sometimes it wouldn't.
I've hopefully ironed out these issues in beta8 and the only things missing for a Release are the silly reordering issues and a checkbox to hide the tooltip hints (for those who are now used to how the addon works).

Arkive Thu, 13 Aug 2009 10:09:18Latest version resolved my errors. So glad to have this mod back! Great work!

Spaga Tue, 11 Aug 2009 21:23:05Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same thing as Arkive and BigGoofy. In addition to the icon/no tooltip issue, I am recieving some errors in BugSack (listed below):

Thanks very much for this great addon!

Arkive Tue, 11 Aug 2009 12:19:01I'm getting the same message as the below poster with the latest beta as well. It's a tragedy this broke recently because this mod does what it does better (and cleaner) than any other mod out imo.

biggoofyusa Tue, 11 Aug 2009 10:34:01Also, I am not sure it is because the error below, but I am using Chocolate Bar and I do not get a tooltip at all when hovering over the icon on the bar. If I click the icon, it brings up the Blizzard Raid Info box.
