SavedInstances

SavedInstances

An addon that keeps track of the instance/raid lockouts saved against your characters, and related currencies and cooldowns. SavedInstances has the following features:

  • Tooltip display shows current lockouts and data for all your characters, and optionally expired lockouts
  • Secondary tooltip (per-lockout) shows lockout details including bosses available, lock status and time remaining, and can be linked into chat
  • Tracks the valor points, justice points, honor points and conquest points of all your characters, including weekly caps
  • Tracks charms of good fortune and other useful currencies
  • Tracks weekly World Boss Loots (Sha of Anger, Galleon, Nalak)
  • Tracks LFR bosses looted
  • Tracks holiday boss encounters
  • Tracks daily and weekly quests completed for each toon
  • Tracks monthly Darkmoon Faire quests completed for each toon
  • NEW Tracks weekly "special" loots on the Isle of Thunder
  • NEW in 5.5: Tracks trade skill cooldowns
  • NEW in 5.6: Tracks farm planting and harvest on Sunsong Ranch
  • Tracks data for all your characters across servers and factions
  • Can be configured to always show your favorite instances so you can use it like a shopping list
  • Tracks Blizzard's 5 instance per hour per account limit
  • Left-click to open Blizzard's Raid Information window
  • Right-click to configure SavedInstances

Known Issues

SavedInstances is pretty good, but it's still not quite perfect. There are currently a few issues:

  • Oondasta: Blizzard's loot-tracking pseudo-quest flag for Oondasta is currently not being set upon a kill. To make matters worse, killing Nalak is incorrectly setting the Oondasta flag (in addition to Nalak's flag). This is a Blizzard bug. SavedInstances just displays the available information, so it won't show up until their bug is fixed. Please help complain on the Blizzard forums to get this bug fixed.
  • lockout time remaining and other features may be off by an hour when your region changes to and from Daylight Savings Time, or if you manually adjust the timezone of your computer.
  • when first installed, SavedInstances has no idea what your other characters are saved to: you'll need to log into them too for their information to be recorded
  • Tracking for the 5 instance per hour limit uses heuristic detection and hence may occasionally be inaccurate (notably when another player has lead and performs explicit resets), but does a reasonable job for common cases.
  • Farm planting/harvest support only tracks activities performed while the addon is enabled
  • might not be compatible with DockingStation's tooltip scaling feature

LibDataBroker versus FuBar

SavedInstances will create a new button on the minimap, and you can use it to interact with SavedInstances just fine. This addon can also be displayed using a LibDataBroker-compatible display addon. I personally use Chocolate Bar which works quite well.

Official FuBar support was terminated a while ago for a variety of reasons. If you still use FuBar, you may get SavedInstances to work with it using Broker2Fubar.

Oh so that's why its flagged hmm that's interesting O_o

Nope - it is definitely still broken (just re-checked myself). The only thing that has "changed" is that Nalak is now available on most servers and a Nalak kill is incorrectly ALSO setting the Oondasta flag. There is still no reliable way to test for an Oondasta kill.

They fixed the hidden quest flag for Oondasta. I noticed it started tracking it this week when I had 5.4.0 beta 4 installed. Using 5.4.0 for now, you should enable it again.

Would it possible to track Oondasta's death event and store a variable for whether he's been killed in a given week? Obviously this would be a limited implementation and would only be accurate when playing on the same computer where the kill was detected with the add-on running, but it would still be nice as a temporary solution until Blizzard fixes the hidden pseudo-quest flag.

Yeah... since i could see that checking the psuedo-quest wasnt working either, i didnt think it was anything wrong with the mod. I just wanted to make sure it was something that you were aware of.

As of 5.2.0 build 16733, Blizzard's loot-tracking pseudo-quest flag for Oondasta is currently not being set upon a kill. This is a Blizzard bug. SavedInstances just displays the available information, so once their bug is fixed it should show up.

Tracking for Nalak is also in place in the addon, and kills should show up (once his island phase is unlocked), assuming his pseudo-quest flag is not similarly bugged.

The mod isn't recognizing Oondasta being killed, but neither are the macros i have found to check quest 32519 for this info. Might just be messed up because it was hotfixed this week to not be lootable more than once a week, but something that you might want to keep an eye on.

No worries, wasn't certain if you were aware, if you are aware then its all good.. :)

Since WoW 5.0, raid lockout tooltips for certain BC and Vanilla raids (including BT, MC and a few others) stopped displaying bosses defeated. You can see this bug by mousing over the lockout on the raid information screen in the default UI, or by linking it into chat and clicking the link. This is a bug in the Blizzard lockout tooltip, and SavedInstances can't do anything about it - we just display the information Blizzard provides. Hopefully they will fix the lockout tooltips eventually, although it's annoying the bug has persisted for so long already. I recommend complaining on the Blizzard Bug Report forum.

Outstanding addon... however, I'm having a problem with getting it to notice my kills in say Black Temple... character has cleared black temple in the last day or two, and the addon is showing 0/0
