254 - Earth Shield/Focus Magic like Vigilance
Hi,
Vigilance is quite clear with it's output. It clearly indicates that there are less buffs than present, and not totally missing, so Warriors know that it could be the other prot warrior forgetting about the buff. However, Focus Magic simply states something like "raid, raid", which usually confuses the heck out of mages. It would be nice if their output was similar.
In addition, it would be really nice if it stated which persons have the buff. It states so when I mouseover it on dashboard, but not when I announce it. It could help tell who forgot about it.
Resto Shamans have a similar problem with Earth Shield, but it's a little better, since it indicates which tank is missing it, so if they assigned themselves to tanks, they know who's forgetting about it.
Greetings, Thels.

That means that the only part that's still a bit odd in my opinion, is Focus Magic's output. Making it more like the Vigilance output, a la "Expecting X, Got Y" would be nice, but it's not something big.

Thels May 11, 2010 at 23:22 UTC - 0 likesWho should get Vigilance. I'm not asking RBS to appoint someone to put it on, just that the current output is really odd.
Vigilance states something like "Expecting 2, Got 1" or something along that nature. Protection Warriors then know right away that it's one of the Prot Warriors slacking, and maybe not themselves.
Focus Magic states "raid" which is pretty meaningless. A similar output of "Expecting 3, Got 2" would clarify it.
And yes, stating who should get it is pretty hard, but I was wondering if it could state who already has it.
For example, this theoretical raid group has 2 warrior tanks, WarriorA and WarriorB. They have two aggro magnets WarlockC and MageD. The Warriors decide that WarriorA will keep Vigilance up on WarlockC, while WarriorB will keep Vigilance up on MageD.
Now, WarriorA did his buff, but WarriorB forgot. The raid leader presses the button, and both warriors get something like
Vigilance: Expecting 2, Got 1.
WarriorA wasn't 100% sure if he buffed it, so he buffs WarlockC again. WarriorB thought he already buffed, and he sees another Vigilance being cast, so he doesn't worry about stuff.
If it would state something like:
Vigilance: Expecting 2, Got 1 (buffed: WarlockC)
The WarriorA knows his target is buffed, and WarriorB knows he forgot the buff.
Same could apply for Focus Magic.
So yeah, I guess they're two suggestions. 1. It would be nice if Focus Magic's output was similar to Vigilance 2. It would be nice if Vigilance/Focus Magic state who are buffed already
