oRA3

139 - BLCD concept for oRA3

What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?

Please provide any additional information below.
Wasn't sure how possible it would be to implement this concept to oRA3 regarding CD availability vs only who used CD's in oRA3, but thought it would be great. Would donate for the cause as well.

I know, there's Hermes LightUI, too, which is basically oRA3's cd display:p I just like the button style because it quickly shows what cds are available without using a ton of screen space.

hermes isn't necessarily button-based, it's got a few styles you can select from, a couple of them are bar-based, not too much different-looking vs oRA3's current CD monitor bars.

anyway, in addition to bl_cooldown (mentioned in original ticket), plus hermes, there is also a third actively-maintained addon that provides this kind of functionality: http://www.wowace.com/addons/blt-raid-cooldowns/

now that oRA3 picks up CD's from the combat log like everything else (it used to be unique with people transmitting their own, which was nice on certain fights with multiple out-of-range platforms etc), seems like you might as well run those other addons if that's what you want.

    Standard Button Style

^ Hermes. I use it with oRA, can't really think of a reason to reimplement it, though, other than it's kind of a pain to set up

... and then I made the mistake of looking at it's code x.x

Can't say I know what that looks like to really comment on it :p

I was thinking of doing something more along the lines of Hermes' button style of showing available cooldowns, or some sort of aggregate bar display, but yea, the showing of bars for everything from everyone approach is a bit overbearing for most people in the raid (of whom could care less).

I don't think this would be a good idea purely due to the amount of screen real estate the addon consumes, our current monitor is flexible with how large users want it.
