26 - Workaround for an overview mode
I understand that the limitations of the WoW threat API mean that threat overview isn't as feasible as it used to be, but for AoE DPS and healing I still wish you'd attempt an "overview" mode. There's still a lot of useful information that could be shown but isn't.
Yes, on giant AoE pulls there is no threat data on half the mobs, or their threat info is sporadic if the tank is doing something like a tab sunder rotation. However, there are many many boss fights and trash pulls that have two or three targets, each with their own tank. Omen could display your threat percentage on each of them, easily. I'd give anything for that functionality as a healer. I could care less where everyone else's threat is, what the pull threshold is, what the tank's TPS looks like. I just want to see my personal threat percentage on as many targets as possible. Please at least consider it, even if it'd need a giant caveat on the config screen. Please.

Xinhuan Sun, 16 Aug 2009 17:38:47It's not that we do not want to add this feature, but that there is no way to obtain the threat data on mobs nobody is targetting except by pure guessing. Guessing is done by knowing in advance how much threat each and every ability of every player (or say your class AND the tank's class since you only want to know your threat vs the tank's) causes, plus every threat modifier (from buffs, debuffs, talents, meta gems, gear, set bonuses, etc) active on each player. And then by reading the combat log on the abilities that each player used plus knowing what boss abilities do.
Many of these threat modifiers of other players are not detectable except by that player himself and then broadcasting such information out. Threat-2.0 used to do all of these and its guesses while generally accepted to be reasonably accurate, are still guesses which took a hell lot of CPU time. We don't do any of these anymore. It's just no longer feasible.
