20 - Patch 3.2.2: Icon Displacement
Today's patch appears to have affected Mapster. The various POI/player location/HandyNotes/GatherMate icons are now larger than usual on the World Map and are displaced from where they should be. However, the tooltips for them are still appearing in the correct places for the most part. Toggling the World Map and changing subzones temporally fixes it until you close and reopen.
EDIT:
Dragging the map around also snaps the icons back to their correct position. It seems to be related to Mapster's size and scaling options.

Nevcairiel Sat, 26 Sep 2009 11:37:30I can confirm that i don't see that behaviour anymore since 3.2.2a

-Raz- Fri, 25 Sep 2009 15:52:05seems this is now fixed as of the 3.2.2a minipatch, not seeing any problems with the map anymore

Nevcairiel Fri, 25 Sep 2009 05:34:12Indeed, nothing related to the Map code changed in 3.2.2, yet the rendering of the icons is completly wonky.
They must've broken something on the interals of the renderer, i don't know what else would cause it.

zaphon Thu, 24 Sep 2009 23:03:50I've been looking through the LUA changes between 3.2.0 and 3.2.2 and so far don't see anything even remotely related to the WorldMap, which is "odd" as I expected something to change.
Heck, having read through the entire diff now, I'm sadly disappointed. They didn't really change a lot (they added code to support the wow mouse, and a bunch of PvP changes), so it's odd that this is broken.

gamemaster128 Thu, 24 Sep 2009 21:03:05Is there any way that we can find out what exactly Blizzard changed with the map? That should make it easier to find those goblins.

Nevcairiel Thu, 24 Sep 2009 17:05:40I was able to reproduce this issue, however, i was unable to fix it. The theoretical positioning of the icons is correct, all values are fine. They should just stick to their overlays, but they don't.
I'm inclined to blame goblins in the UI renderer.

Muiric Wed, 23 Sep 2009 16:56:03Looks like my quick test was wasn't correct after all. As -Raz- says the PvP world objective icons are wrong too. :(

-Raz- Wed, 23 Sep 2009 12:18:22this does indeed happen to all map icons, even ones gathermate adds, as well as the default blizz pvp world objectives which i dont think handynotes toys around with
as gamemaster128 said, the icons appear where they would be without having mapster running, yet the map itself gets scaled down properly, just not any of the icons
edit: uploaded an image of what WG looks like now since patch, workshops are missing as there was just a restart a few mins b4 i took it
edit2: added another image of another char in dragonblight, shows the WG objectives way off the map :\

Muiric Wed, 23 Sep 2009 11:53:30Was able to quickly test this out after the patch and before a server restart. Looks like the issue is with HandyNotes and not Mapster as the GatherMate icons were fine. The only icons affected were those added by HandyNotes.
