Mapster

156 - Digsites are mis-placed, not showing in the correct location

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the map
2. Zoom out to continent level and look for any available digsite (digsites are shown correctly at this level)
3. Zoom into a zone with a digsite and the digsite is being shown over the ocean or maybe in the next zone or some other remote location

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see digsites being displayed in the actual location of the digsite, not somewhere else.

What version of the product are you using?
I was using v1.5.3 when this started, I've now installed v1.5.4 and the issue still persists.

Do you have an error log of what happened?
No, there is no "error" as such.

Please provide any additional information below.
I added a comment about this issue to a ticket about quest icons being mis-placed, it seems my comment was ignored so I'm now creating a new ticket in the hopes that the author will actually take notice of this and take the appropriate steps to correct the problem. This is my comment from that ticket:
"I've noticed a similar thing happening with the placement of "digsites", but only since the latest version (1.5.3) was released. I've found that selecting and then de-selecting the "Hide Quest Panels" option on the bottom of the frame will "re-align" the digsites with their correct location. Unfortunately that only works if you actually have quests in the zone, otherwise the only way to find out where digsites actually are is to zoom out the map to the continent level to give you a better idea of where to go and then turn on the minimap digsites tracking."

Not all digsites are affected, some are being displayed in the correct location. As an example, on one of my characters all their digsites in Kalimdor, Outland and Northrend are displayed correctly. Two digsites in Eastern Kingdoms are not, one in Cape of Stranglethorn is shown over the ocean to the west of the Gurubashi Arena and north of Hardwrench Hideaway, the second in Northern Stranglethorn is shown literally just east of Grom'gol Base Camp. All four digsites in Pandaria are mis-placed, there are two in Townlong Steppes with one being shown over the ocean and the second being shown as being in Valley of the Four Winds,.one in Krasarang is shown over the ocean and the 4th should be in Vale of Eternal Blossoms but at zone level there's no digsite shown anywhere!

EDIT: Adding some additional info and correcting some typo's. I've noticed today that when any digsites are mis-aligned and I select and then de-select the "Hide Quest Panels" option to re-align them correctly if I then change zones the digsite(s) will once again become mis-aligned.

Sorry for the delay, but work kept me away from all WoW related for a while.

I'll try to look at it on the weekend and see if i can reproduce it and fix it, however last i tried to reproduce it, it didn't seem to reproduce easily for me at least.

Still no update or anything on this one? Need more information? Maybe some screenshots that clearly show the problem?

Any progress or update on this problem being fixed? It's really making the process of finding the actual location of digsites somewhat annoying.

No, I do not usually have "Hide Quest Panels" selected, I prefer to have those panels showing. Selecting that option does correct the digsite location display and they stay corrected when I de-select the option, but as soon as I change zones or relog then they revert back to being mis-placed.

I've seen a comment from one other person about this problem, so I'm not the only one who's seeing this happen.

Do you actually have "Hide Quest Panels" usually selected, or not?

Surely I'm not the only one who's seeing this problem with digsite locations being shown in the wrong place! Almost 3 days since I created this ticket and apparently it's Status is still "New - Issue has not had initial review yet" so I'm wondering if the author is simply unaware that a new ticket has been created!
