82 - WoW hangs while loading LSW after Auctionator getall scan
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Scan the auction house by "Fulll Scan" with Auctionator. Then open any profession window(Enchanting or Jewelcrafting in my case)(high population eu realm Twisting Nether horde side, any hour, any city).
2. Open profession window and then run "Full Scan" with Auctionator(high population eu realm Twisting Nether horde side, any hour, any city).
3. Open and close profession, after some time during the same login session run the Auctionator "Full Scan"(high population eu realm Twisting Nether horde side, any hour, any city).
4. The only and only addons(I am experienced addon user, I know what I am talking about) I used were Auctionator and Lilsparky's Workshop. Fresh WoW install, nothing else. Deleted cache, WTF, Interface folders, same result.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect it not to hang my WoW(it's not responding if I look in task manager, can atl-tab easily from WoW to desktop).
What version of the product are you using?
117beta.
Do you have an error log of what happened?
No.
Please provide any additional information below.
When I was using LSW+Auctionator combo on my alliance character(Auchindoun EU) during any hour, WoW wasn't hanging up. However it hangs WoW on my horde character(Twisting Nether EU). The difference between two characters is of course faction, realm, and amount of recipes learned(the horde character has many JC recipes learned). I suspect it might be something about recipe count and the way LSW is loading the Auctionator scan data. Here is very similar addon to LSW(it's discontinued) but there is a comment which perfectly describes what is happening to me:
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/profmax
"Had to give up using this addon as it hung up my client and caused connection timeouts when opening trade skills with huge amount of recipe like every primary crafting profession. First aid and cooking were not causing timeouts but short freezes. Maybe this has something to do with Blizzards changes to addons query rates."
The workaround I found - every time I login I never ever god forbid open profession window, before I've done "Full Scan" with Auctionator. Scan goes flawlessly(because LSW is not initialized). Then I open First Aid window and it's doesn't hang(something to do with recipes learned?), then I open Cooking just in case and then my Enchanting - WoW doesn't hang. Kinda unproductive if you ask me, because on my alliance character I could have both scan running and Enchanting window open.
Possible workaround - make LSW load on demand(and unload on demand), also load from Auctionator scan data slowly, not everything at once(slower progress bar to reduce lag/cpu spikes). Maybe some changes to how LSW interacts with the wow server? Maybe wow server thinks that LSW is DDoSing it or something.

Alakabaster Dec 15, 2011 at 12:27 UTC - 0 likesI experience the exact same issues (only happens on my main, who has a lot more receipes than anybody else). I've worked around by scanning for gems manually, so I can do my gemtrading, but of course that won't really work for other tradeskills. Version was r119.

pikezeppelin Nov 09, 2011 at 07:09 UTC - 0 likesNo, I don't get any progress bar with latest beta, everything loads instantly. I get progress bar with 110 stable, but that release doesn't seem to calculate stuff properly.
I am using TradeskillDW addon, but the same thing happened without any tradeskill addon.
Making a button for manual LSW calculations instead of doing everything in automatic/realtime mode would be great.
By the way, if I wait long enough during the "freezes" WoW disconnects me to main menu window(not character menu), if I alt-tab out of the game(during the freezes, not after I got disconnected) I can see that WoW "is not responding" in task manager.

lilsparky Nov 07, 2011 at 03:09 UTC - 0 likesdo you get any kind of progress bar? i've tried to make lsw update routines as cpu friendly as possible, even throttling the processing over multiple frames (this is why you even get a progress bar under normal conditions).
locked up client is usually some kind of endless loop in the lua code. not sure what in lsw would cause that.
also, what trade skill mod are you running (if any)?
