1 - Yes, you likely can benefit from a standard before level 85
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install r10
Please provide any additional information below.
The new r10 restriction for the mod to activate for level 85 characters only is...somewhat restricting.
The three Alliance versions are linked as follows: Battle Standard of Coordination, Standard of Unity & Banner of Coordination. The Horde ones have the same benefits. Unlike what it says in the tooltip, however, you cannot buy any of them before you reach Honored with your guild; likely the impetus for r10's change.
There is a lot of hearsay online about being able to reach Honored before level 85. With the guild-rep tabards (the better one can be bought on one character at Honored and sent to another account character below that, etc.) or otherwise, have yet to see the definitive word. But one thing that is almost certainly the case is that in WoW 4.3, other guild members in a party/raid who put down a banner will allow guild people at a lower rep to benefit from them. I have yet to see anything in a fair bit of research that says this is not possible.
A character you are running who can't buy a banner yet can still announce to others to put one down. Or if playing with just yourself and another guild member who has the banner- - but are talking on a voice com system such as Ventrilo - - you can alert that person to drop their banner (as there is a 3 guild-member minimum for party/raid announces). So recommend reverting r10's lines 86 to 97.
