661 - Missing player name after changing specs
Grid version:
Check the addon’s TOC file if you’re not sure!
5.0.5.1548
WoW version and region/language:
Check the WoW login screen if you’re not sure!
5.0.5 (16135) (Release x64)
Character race, class, spec, and level:
Undead, Priest, Disc/Shadow, 90
Steps to reproduce the problem:
- Switch between Disc or Shadow spec.
- Sometimes it takes a few switches to reproduce the issue.
3.
What you expected to happen:
The grid profile should change dependent on the spec I switched to with no graphical errors.
What actually happened:
Everything switches fine, except grid will show ONLY the class color. It no longer displays the name of the person. It does however still display health information. Reloading UI resolves the issue.
With no addons enabled, grid changes to a completely black and non-functional box.
Does the problem still happen when all other addons — including all Grid plugins — are disabled?
Yes, with no addons enabled, grid changes to a completely black and non-functional box.
Does the problem still happen after you switch to a new profile in Grid with default settings, log out, and log back in?
If not, please attach your Grid saved variables file to your ticket, and TELL US WHICH PROFILE you were using when the problem happened.
The problem doesn't happen if I use the Default profile for both specs. However, if I use the Default profile for one spec, and use a different profile with the settings copied from the default, the problem happens. This would lead me to believe it's an issue with drawing the frames after a talent switch with dual profile enabled. (I'm no addon guy, so I may be completely wrong)
Exact text of the first related error message, if any:
Please DO NOT include lists of local variables or installed addons, even if they are shown with the error message in-game!
No errors.

Hillmire Nov 15, 2012 at 17:57 UTC - 0 likesOh I see it now, thanks. I'll try to get screenshots for the other problem. It's harder to test because it only occurs in raids, and I can't take much time to test the issue while I'm raiding.
My Disc profile is "class/priest". My Shadow profile is "Soltarii - Stormreaver".

Phanx Nov 15, 2012 at 07:58 UTC - 0 likesYou can attach a file to your original ticket by clicking "Attach" near the top of the page, to the right of the ticket title.
You can also attach a file to a comment, but only after you've submitted the comment, by moving the cursor over your comment and clicking the small paperclip icon in the top right corner of your comment.
However, I'd suggest attaching files only to the ticket itself, as files attached to comments are not very visible and get lost quickly once more comments are posted.
As for the other problem, please submit a separate ticket with specifics -- including screenshots of the default raid UI and Grid at the same time, and your saved variables file with the name of the profile(s) you're using -- as it's simply too much work to try to keep track of multiple issues in a single ticket. The whole point of a ticket tracker is that each issue can have its own space, instead of all being jumbled together on a comments page.

Hillmire Nov 15, 2012 at 02:10 UTC - 0 likesThere doesn't seem to be an option to attach a file in a reply. I'm also having extremely annoying problems with the group layout after I switch specs too. Grid refuses to order the groups properly, no matter what the group order is in the default raid UI, grid displays whatever it feels like with no pattern.
