278 - frame lockups

What version of Grid are you using?
r1278 currently, but tried alot of versions

What version (and language) of WoW are you using?
3.3 en

What were you doing when the problem occured?
anything

What happened?  What did you expect to happen instead?
It was a ticket about frame locks before but was closed because you couldnt reproduce it. It happens on every group change (someone is changing zone, joining or leaving group). It's very hard to play in large groups (IoC, AV), even in 25 man raids it is annoying.

Do you have an error log of what happened?

The reason i'm posting this ticked again is that i found something new. It happens only when i use an opengl engine (wow.exe -opengl). May be the grid is using something to update the frame which is buggy in opengl implementation. Although Grid2 is not affected, it's working smooth, but not really usable for me.

    The correct frames are checked.

    Left Click works, it heals, as soon as i enter combat it stops working until I relog.

    Set up a fresh new Clique profile, left click worked, entered combat and stopped working.

    Edit: If I revert back to a "pre fix" version it works fine. I dunno don't worry about it I rarely do 40 man BG's so the "lag" that I get when people leave/join isn't a big deal, not being able to left click heal in combat is though lol.

    I can't reproduce it... Just downloaded latest Clique, set up a Flash Heal to the left button and it is working. In and out of combat. Tried even smash my mouse but it didn't target the target, only started casting. Can you reproduce it on the default Clique config? May be it is something unchecked in Frames options in Clique?

    Have a small problem when it comes to left clicking frames.

    I use clique with grid to heal. With both v6 and v7 lockups patch I am unable to use mouse left click to heal, it seems to only want to target that unit on Grid. Sometimes it's fine but then when I enter combat I can no longer use the left click binding I have set up in Clique and it only targets the unit I'm clicking on.

    Attached v7 with the small button on TOPLEFT of Grid frame which updates all units on click. Just as workaround for small bugs until I catch them.

    Still trying to reproduce those things with vehicles, but it just doesn't happen for me :(

    Have not had that range issue.

    The problem with the freezing has been gone from the first patch you did, it runs much better for me. Going to link a few screenshots of things that have happened while playing with v6, all vehicle related. These are very much minor nuisances for me, I'm quite happy to deal with them since the major issue has disappeared.

    I don't think it is a frame issue. The range stuff is handled by GridRange.lua and GridStatusRange.lua which I didn't touch. GridFrame is doing nothing with it...

    Did play(icc/dungeons/battlegrounds) for awhile with v6 and didn't see any problems at all. What about you guys? Did it remove the freeze spikes for you?

    Yes, his health worked as usual, it was just the opacity that was wrong. I did try to reproduce it twice, but I didnt succeed.

    That will be hard to reproduce... will try. Did his health/indicators was being updated during the dungeon?

    Also I'm thinking about the small button in any of the corners of Grid which updates all frames on click. Just as workaround for the small bugs before I fix them.

    Hi again, I have tried out V6 now. Occulus and SoTA works find, and its seems WG also works good with the vehicles. But I noticed a bug with out of range. I was in party with a friend, and he was out of range, and we entered a random heroic via dungeon tool. Through the whole instance my grid showed my friend as out of range, like he was before we entered. I havn't reproduced it, but maybe you can. :) Keep up the good work :)
