185 - Grid may get confused about pet statuses

What version of Grid are you using?
Installed:r1207 (Released: 2009/08/06)

What version (and language) of WoW are you using?
EN/GB 3.02

What were you doing when the problem occured?
fighting mobs

What happened?
My pet status on my pet frame and the Grid pet frame were out of sync.

What did you expect to happen instead?
Grid pet bar and my pet bar show the same information.

Do you have an error log of what happened?
There is no exception thrown.

Please provide any additional information below.
Lately i have started playing a warlock and a hunter and it does happen that in a combat the status of my pet is 'frozen'.
This can have various issues like:
* Pet health bar frozen showing something like 80% while the pet's actual health is at 20% and taking damage
* Pet not showing up at all while it is summoned

Dismissing / resummoning the pet does resynchronize Grid.

One way to trigger this somewhat reliable is to enter combat while mounted.

Neither the blizzard unit frame or Pitbull4 have a problem tracking my pet.

Please check on your ticket daily. If a ticket is waiting on a response from you for more than 7 days, I will assume that you have fixed the problem yourself and have abandoned the ticket.

It seems that pets may receive a new guid even though they have not been dismissed under certain conditions.

I'd like to confirm the issue. Noted it as well with my warlock, having my minion 'frozen' several times. It's kind of deadly at times.

Also noted this to a lesser extent on other characters, for whom pets (not just mine) at times show as dead or offline. Resummoning has always worked in this case.

Kudos to Tuscan for the work-around!

I've had this issue as well on my hunter, pretty consistently. What I've found:

If a pet is hidden and returned by mounting - independent of combat - when I've got the solo display on, the pet bar on reappearing displays the status of the pet as it appeared when the pet was last active and does -not- update but remains static.

This can be cleared by toggling /grid standby, or sometimes (but not always) by dismissing and resummoning my class pet.

If the pet is "dismissed" by the summoning of a quest pet (such as the plaguehound in the quest "Let them eat Crow", when the quest pet is dismissed the pet bar goes gray and displays "offline."

In this situation, I have found /grid standby toggling does -not- fix the pet status, but actively dismissing and resummoning my class pet does.

ok i just verified it.

I can get the pet 'out of sync' by doing.

- enable pets in grid - summon pet (warlock / hunter) - mount up - ride past a mob and get in combat while mounted
- Pet damage taken won't be displayed in Grid, on blizzard head up bar with 'v' and pitbull.
