No, smapty, it's random. Test reloading the interface a few times to confirm. (#16)

After patch 3.2, I found that disabling GridAutoFrameSize, logging in, logging back out (to re-save the lua file), then logging back in again cleared up my black unitframe issue.

I found out that the units in the last group-header will be blacked. The reason may be a change of the order of updating the unit attributes and showing the button.

And I have found a workaround:

    Change GridFrame.lua line-1272

    from

    if frame.frame:IsVisible() then

    to

    if true then

Though it's not a perfect solution, but it works for now.

Unfortunately I also get this since 3.2.

I don't have a reliable work around. It seems to come back on its on after deleting and recopying stuff. Or logging in and out multiple times. Or something.

    this is caused by WTF\Account\Account\Realm\Toon\AddOns.txt

grid and quartz both work as a charm on my warrior and druid but my priest get's fu'd up

i remove my druid's AddOns.txt and my priest works fine

I still have the black boxes problem, but strangely enough only on one of my pc's. That's why I still use r1177. As mentioned by others: I, too, have removed my entire WTF, or only Saved Variables, or disabled all addons. But whatever setup I am trying, boxes are still black.

To the person who complained about the raidsetup showing no more that 10 in a raid setup. I had that problem too, until I, under SOLO setup, changed it to 25 w pets, that solved the peoblem ;)

    Strange but true!

Kudo32, at work so cannot try...

Does the range check work if I disable indicator icon bar?

Did not realise how much I sub consciously monitored the colour for range checks and really want to get the range element back!

    Thanks

Yes range check works fine once I disabled that addon. So black frames are coming from an addon to grid that hasn't been updated so you disable that mod that isn't working and grid normal by itself works great.

Workaround: after reloading the interface (/rl) 2-4 times the black frames are gone. No joke.
