Grid

152 - Grid Can't Be Started Up

What version of Grid are you using?
The latest version.

What version (and language) of WoW are you using?
Latest version, english.

What were you doing when the problem occured?
What happens is that I enable all my addons, and Grid, for some reason, has a silver check mark next to it. I fix it to make sure it's a gold check mark (for all characters). Then I make sure it's enabled for the character I'm going to log onto. When I get into the game, it isn't there. Then the check mark reverts to silver.

What happened?  What did you expect to happen instead?
I expect Grid to show. No one else has apparently encountered this problem.

Do you have an error log of what happened?
Nope.

Please provide any additional information below.
Basically it won't start up. I've done everything, made multiple posts on WoW asking for help, and no one can figure it out. It's up to date, but it refuses to run.

Please check on your ticket daily. If a ticket is waiting on a response from you for more than 7 days, I will assume that you have fixed the problem yourself and have abandoned the ticket.

The silver check mark indicates that the addon is enabled for some characters, but not for others. It sounds like one of two things is happening:

1 - You have another addon that's disabling Grid for some characters. Many in-game addon managers, such as ACP, include "addon profiles". Make sure you aren't using such an addon, or configure it to leave Grid enabled.

2 - Your addons.txt file, which is where the WoW client saves information about which addons are enabled for a character, is not writable. Try deleting it while WoW isn't running (...World of Warcraft > WTF > Account > YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME > Your Server Name > Your Character Name > addons.txt) and logging back in.

A third possibility is that you're using Windows Vista and have WoW installed in the Program Files directory, which causes all sorts of problems with addons and isn't something I can help you with because I don't use Vista. If you are, try moving the World of Warcraft folder out of Program Files. Just select the folder, cut, and paste in another location, such as C:\Games.
