34 - Error Inventory Count
What is the nature of the defect?
I've a problem with the inventory count: bank is not only bank but bank+inventory, inventory is ok, alt is not ok (i see no clue's for the values).

lilsparky Jun 17, 2010 at 20:32 UTC - 0 likesi can certainly add an option to the gb scanning to consider permissions so only those items you have access to would be considered "in your inventory". would this suffice?
the hierarchy is designed around increasing difficulty in getting the mats. it's easier to pilfer the gb than it is to swap toons and mail an item to yourself.
i still need to consider the utility of this column, tho. it might be somewhat pointless to consider the potentially crafted items because some may use this column to figure out whether they should craft an item for auction or not. if it says you have 10 because you have 3 and can make another 7, that defeats the purpose. so it's still kind of up in the air.
i could make another column that is the real inventory. while this might seem like there would be too many columns, i'm working on a method to hide columns you don't care about. (hold down alt to see the work-in-progress... you can toggle columns visibility and also re-arrange them. i need to add changing widths next).

lilsparky Jun 16, 2010 at 22:15 UTC - 0 likesyou wouldn't believe the number of times i've gone back and forth on this one. this is actually intended behavior. the reason being that when considering crafting, you really can't just consider a single source like bag or bank because your bag might contain half the reagents you need while the bank has the other half. neither can craft the items, but between the two of them they can.
when looking at craftability, there is a progression based on a kind of heirarchy:
bag = items in bags
vendor = bag + items available form vendors
bank = vendor + items in your bank
guildbank = bank + items in your guildbank
alt = all items in the bank of every toon on this server/faction (keeping in mind that bank includes bags) + all guildbanks accessible by those toons.
alt is kinda broken right now i think...
so that's for craftability. it kind of has to be that way to make any sense.
so do i break that theory when listing actual items? i certainly COULD but i chose not to just to be consistent. but perhaps i should rethink that and go with each category being separate when listing actual item numbers...
also, keep in mind that these numbers include potentially crafted items, which complicates things for the reasons listed above...
