DrDamage

101 - Warrior theorycraft

Found many few errors on calculation about the warrior, and melee chars too

About the warrior :

Overpower : DrDamage still calculate parry/dodge mitigation, as overpower can't be mitigated, you must deactivate mitigation calculation (only dodge/parry, armor still counts) for proper results.
Battle Stance : The 10% Bonus ARP is not included while calculating mitigation
Poleaxe specialization : the 5% crit bonus is added to the base crit % from char stats, but those 5% are already included in char stats as long as you carry an axe or polearm, so you get a "5% more crit wrong calculation". NB : i didn't checked other weapon spec.
Buffs/Debuffs :
2 different type of "Sunder Armor" debuff on target, can't find out which one does what?
Can't check "trauma" debuff on target, though it is not that much important for the warrior, except for Deep Wound calculation
can't check "Rampage" buff on self (5% raid crit bonus, fury talent, may not stack up with leader of the pack, though i haven't tested for now)
can't check buffs "Recklessness" or "Death Wish", though it still doesn't mean real modif in theorycrafting
can't check "Flurry" buff on self (fury), must be quiet important
can't check "Enrage" buff on self (warrior only)

About melee classes :

GLancing blow calculation is not modified as you get more hit over 100% needed.
It seems to be 1% hit -> 1% less glancing, starting at 100% hit. this works for 1H and 2H, didn't checked for dual wielding.
might check about blizzard official for detailed info. I justed compared DrD stats and recount stats with more than 200 hits on target

It should be nice to be able to display DPS instead of AvgTotal on AB, at least for melee hits, as this stat is calculated for many melee abilities, this is just a display trick i think :).

Thx for reading and correcting if you can
Thx and Go on with this add on, it remains marvellous for many uses
I didn't find out other errors but i'll report if i do.

Well, after many hours of tests and investigations about glancing, it actually seems that glancing is 24% at all time. The other point is that glancing dam reduction is a random% between 2 values, so glancing calc for exact dam report might not be reliable. The only important thing is about the potent "crit cap" when you get low hit/expertise scores. eg : miss + parry + dodge + glance (+ block if exists) give a % of hits that CANNOT crit (i'll call it M) if crit % (AFTER CRIT DEPRESS) > M , then effective crit% is M, else it's normal crit% In the first case you no longer get normal hits, only crits or glance (see combat table resolution)

I haven't tested if this feature is included in DrD or not, but that should be nice to do so :). About gear optimisation, you can finally ignore glancing as far as you have enough hit/expertise.

then, my wrong results with recount weren't wrong, but approx. With hit/exp capped, and over more than 1000 hits, you actually get 24%glance. Results a much less significant if you lower exp and hit from front of the dummy for example. (got 25glance / 11.5parry / 3.9dodge instead of 24 / 12.25 / 4.25 in theory)

here are the few infos about glancing :

In addition, i was pleased to see that crit depression calculation is correct experimentally. (i don't know about the formula, but you might be right )

    Thanks for the thorough report.

I've fixed overpower, battle stance and poleaxe specialization for the next version. Also I've removed the second entry of sunder armor from the options, it was just due to warrior module having it listed separately, no real difference between them :)

There's really no official information regarding glancing blow.. I've never heard about the fact that going over 100% hit reduces glancing blows, do you have any reliable source with more information regarding this?

Regarding the DPS display, in the future I'll add an option to choose display type spell specifically depending on what's available for that spell. In the meantime you'll have to rely on the tooltip for the DPS value. I'll try to get it in for the next major release!

IF you find anything else don't hesitate to post another ticket.
