DrDamage

DrDamage is up to date for patch 3.2.2

DrDamage displays the calculated, average damage or healing of abilities with talents, gear and buffs included on your actionbar buttons. The addon will also add various information to the default tooltips in your spellbook and on the actionbar.

Slash Commands:

/drdmg or /drdamage

Localization:

If you want to help having this addon translated into your language visit: http://www.wowace.com/projects/dr-damage/localization/

Functionality:

  • Supports all classes
  • Actionbar addons supported: Default, Bartender 4, Dominos, Macaroon, Nurfed AB, IPopBar, nUI, RDX and CT_BarMod.
  • Places text with the metric of your choosing on the actionbar buttons
  • Damage and healing statistics are placed into your tooltips. This includes for example critical hit chance, spell damage and damage coefficients, averages, DPS, DPSC (damage per seconds cast), damage until OOM and more!
  • Your own buffs and your target's debuffs are taken into account
  • Allows manual modification of the essential base stats used to calculate. For example you can test how much +100 spellpower would increase your damage or healing output.

FAQ:

  • Are you planning to make a user interface for configuration?
    • DrDamage has a FuBar plugin capability for easy configuration. DeuceCommander works as well.
  • Can I donate?
    • If you wish. PayPal: gagorian (at) gmail.com

Donations:

I've received questions about if it's possible to donate. Donations are appreciated and the money goes to paying for wotlk and then my account as I've quit the game.

Current status (as of 1.6.6):

All classes are considered up to date. Nearly all relevant glyphs and set bonuses have been added (note: old world set bonuses will not be supported). Certain buffs and debuffs may still be missing.

  • NOTE: DETAILED reports about inaccuracies is the only way we'll know something is wrong. If you don't report it, don't expect it to get fixed!

Known issues:

  • Certain damage spells/abilities display no damage information, because they have complicated calculations. These few might be implemented eventually.

Bug reports:

Bug reports should include:

  • DrDamage version.
  • Any error messages.
  • Which actionbar addon you use.
  • Your class and level.
  • If the issue is an accuracy issue, please try to include detailed damage/heal numbers of what DrDamage claims and what you're actually seeing.
    • It's very helpful to know your talent build. A link to your talent build, or to your armory profile.

Please note that bug reports that simply include the error, can be difficult to interpret, making it very hard to locate the actual issue. Remember, the more information you give, the easier it is for me to find the issue and resolve it!

Tickets have gone unanswered for 6 weeks. A lot of the calculations and numbers aren't correct and even got worse with the latest patch. I'm sorry to say that at this point the only thing this mod is good for is Hit Rating calculations based on mob level. This was my favorite mod, the one I tell everyone that they shouldn't play without. Guess its time to disable it.

Any chance for supporting +1% damage from warlock conjured stones ?

    I believe I have r715:

Rend is getting the mitigation I set, but since it is a bleed effect I believe it should not? When I watch it tick it seems to tick for the unmitigated amount.

Any chance you can add expertise to your hit calculations? As a feral druid or prot warrior, I am attacking from the front all the time, be it solo or in a group, so expertise is just as important a factor to me as hit rating. Thanks.

    r715: Scourge Strike [Death Knight]
The damage is shadow, so enemy mitigation need not be used.
    Death and Decay [Death Knight]
    It can crit.
    Circle of Healing [Priest]
    It can now crit.

    r710: Frostfire Bolt

crit is a little off. its getting double bonus from int but other than that looks good, its getting the ghost hit% as it should but spell dmg is off still, line 830 of caster.lua doesnt work like ur trying. GetspellBonusDamage(1) is returning a value of 0 like someone else said.

    calculation.spellDmg = GetSpellBonusDamage(3) + GetSpellBonusDamage(5) - GetSpellBonusDamage(1)

you could change the (1) to (2) and get it to read off holy dmg which is only affected seperately from one source, the shattrath flask of blinding light, which is currently obsolete. i tried it and it works, just seems to have problems reading from base dmg as (1). with those changes all thats left to bring frostfire bolt up to par is the glyph and t7 set bonuses.

incidentally when u do get around to calculating glyphs remember not to bother doing molten armors glyph, its automatically getting added from reading getcritchance()

    Hi guys,

    Dally you asked:

"But now I'm of the impression that all frost and fire effects are applied to BOTH versions of FFB, and that the only deciding factor is the target's fire/frost resistances? In which case, I guess there really is absolutely no point in keeping separate fire and frost versions of FFB... Am I correct in this?"

That's correct, the tooltip thing about resistance only concerns the useless DoT which is a frost or a fire Dot according to target resistence. That could simply be ignored as the DoT deals near 0 dmg.

Regarding EP, I'm really believing that FFB is getting double bonus. Please see this screenshot (using r706), FFB has around 3% miss, Scorch 6%.

    http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ffbstatszn9.jpg

On this screenshot you can also see that dmg calculations (normal and crit) displayed on DrDamage tooltip are too high compared to recount stats(using r706).

One more point : it looks like frostfire glyph +2% crit bonus is not working correctly (imo wow bug). On my 600 samples, I reached the fire crit rate, not the fire crit rate +2%.

    FYI my talents are:

    http://www.wow-europe.com/fr/info/basics/talents/mage/talents.html?tal=00000000000000000000000000000023050300123033300531203013512033030311030000000000000000

Now that I've made all this measures for nothing as you already fixed several things, I'm going to update to r710 ! xD

    Cheers,

    Ekovah

one more issue... FFB spelldamage coeff is now incorrectly very high. I'm guessing this is a result of changing the school to 'frostfire' ... and drdamage doesnt know how to handle +dmg for the frostfire school?

after a little more digging... it seems that in caster.lua spell damage for FFb (caught me off-guard by the reference to spell ID) is not having the base spell damage being subtracted properly. It seems that GetSpellBonusDamage(1) is returning "0"

  • Avatar of zoeckler zoeckler Sat, 06 Dec 2008 00:47:52

You are correct, FFB is a spell that benefits from fire and frost modifiers. I am unsure how resistance come into play, but i do know that immunity to frost or fire has no effect on FFB. Setting the school to frostfire and updating the talents worked great... and EP works correctly.

The one thing that didnt work is the crit chance.. I noticed that the caster.lua hack was pulling melee crit for baseCritChance, not spell crit... I fixed it by changing it to:

if DrD_MatchData(baseSpell.School, "Frostfire") then local baseCritTemp = GetSpellCritChance(1)
