DrDamage

DrDamage is up to date for patch 3.2.2

DrDamage displays the calculated, average damage or healing of abilities with talents, gear and buffs included on your actionbar buttons. The addon will also add various information to the default tooltips in your spellbook and on the actionbar.

Slash Commands:

/drdmg or /drdamage

Localization:

If you want to help having this addon translated into your language visit: http://www.wowace.com/projects/dr-damage/localization/

Functionality:

  • Supports all classes
  • Actionbar addons supported: Default, Bartender 4, Dominos, Macaroon, Nurfed AB, IPopBar, nUI, RDX and CT_BarMod.
  • Places text with the metric of your choosing on the actionbar buttons
  • Damage and healing statistics are placed into your tooltips. This includes for example critical hit chance, spell damage and damage coefficients, averages, DPS, DPSC (damage per seconds cast), damage until OOM and more!
  • Your own buffs and your target's debuffs are taken into account
  • Allows manual modification of the essential base stats used to calculate. For example you can test how much +100 spellpower would increase your damage or healing output.

FAQ:

  • Are you planning to make a user interface for configuration?
    • DrDamage has a FuBar plugin capability for easy configuration. DeuceCommander works as well.
  • Can I donate?
    • If you wish. PayPal: gagorian (at) gmail.com

Donations:

I've received questions about if it's possible to donate. Donations are appreciated and the money goes to paying for wotlk and then my account as I've quit the game.

Current status (as of 1.6.6):

All classes are considered up to date. Nearly all relevant glyphs and set bonuses have been added (note: old world set bonuses will not be supported). Certain buffs and debuffs may still be missing.

  • NOTE: DETAILED reports about inaccuracies is the only way we'll know something is wrong. If you don't report it, don't expect it to get fixed!

Known issues:

  • Certain damage spells/abilities display no damage information, because they have complicated calculations. These few might be implemented eventually.

Bug reports:

Bug reports should include:

  • DrDamage version.
  • Any error messages.
  • Which actionbar addon you use.
  • Your class and level.
  • If the issue is an accuracy issue, please try to include detailed damage/heal numbers of what DrDamage claims and what you're actually seeing.
    • It's very helpful to know your talent build. A link to your talent build, or to your armory profile.

Please note that bug reports that simply include the error, can be difficult to interpret, making it very hard to locate the actual issue. Remember, the more information you give, the easier it is for me to find the issue and resolve it!

    zhTW.lua

    local L = LibStub("AceLocale-3.0"):NewLocale("DrDamage", "zhTW", true)

"true" need to be replaced by "false", correctly displayed Traditional Chinese

Just a notice to everyone, I don't really read these comments very often so it's better to post on curse.com, where most of the comments come. Or if it's about a bug, then post a ticket.

I'm not sure about the Portuguese translation, seems like the wowace localization system doesn't support Portuguese yet.

The moonkin T9 set bonus issue has been fixed.

I'm not sure what your DPS issues are about, nobody else has reported inaccuracies. Are you sure you just haven't changed some manual values that give overestimated values? To manually change values you need to active the manual variables option first.

Just a comment, the druid.lua has a typo for the 2p T9 moonkin bonus, its currently set at >=4, should be >=2

    Hi!

The DPS values it gives me are way off. Examples: It told me a frostfirebolt would do 2200 DPS while it did like 1600 DPS on the boss-fake in IF. The webpage maxdps estaminated this correct.

Or the living bomb. DrDamage tells its 535 DPS and recount says its 440 DPS, again correctly estaminated by the maxdps webpage.

Also, changing values like hit, damage bonus etc manualy does not alter the DPS numbers shown on the buttons.

Hey. Apperently when i look on Drdamage numbers on the Crusader strike it is giving me a higher value than i am even able to crit. and i have chosen it to give me average number.

Yes I've considered it, and it was almost added when Omen still calculated all the values instead of relying on Blizzard API. Back then threat values could've easily be provided when Omen was installed.

Now due to the relative complexity it's currently out of DrDamage's scope. A possible plugin isn't ruled out though if anyone else wants to write one.

I know this is primarily a damage calculator, but have you ever considered adding support for threat values as well? I know most of your threat are based on a threat multiplier on the damage done, but there are some exceptions, examples such as innate threat from abilities such as Heroic Strike and Sunder Armor, as well as Paladin's white damage not benefitting from Righteous Fury since it isn't holy damage etc.

Predatory Strikes (druid talent) affects auto-attack crit multiplier, btw, in cat form. It isn't currently listed as such, but the talent does read "increases your damage from melee critical strikes by 10%". Looking at the auto-attack mouseover tooltip in DrDamage-r983, this is not currently factored in.

Expertise and Armor Penetration aren't taken into account. Mob armor is an unknown factor, and will probably never be taken into account unless there's a better solution for it. Thus that rules out Armor Penetration as well.

Expertise on the other hand could be interesting to add later.
