Chinchilla Minimap

Example 1

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates.
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Zoom
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

Youre right the orange box is flush with the side, but that nonetheless still leaves a gap there once the log is visible which while a minor issue, does leave wasted space in my UI. Is it possible to allow the orange box to be placed outside the visible area of the screen? That would allow us to manually correct the problem by moving the box until the quest log is flush.

I'm tempted to say it's partly due to a bug in Blizzard's code or a fault with the previous author's positioning logic code.
It also depends on how wide you set the tracker.

I have something similar where the slider can go to 725 but the tracker only goes to 595, but even so the orange box appears flush with the side of my screen. It differs from screen to screen.

I could re-write the entire positioning logic but that will break everyone's saved settings and I'd rather not do that.

Thanks, also, the quest tracker, the furthest right it will go is 717.20, even though the slider is to 820. As a result where the quest tracker ends from the edge of the screen is a gap, maybe 20-30 pixels. Any way of fixing this so the quest tracker can be made flush with the edge of the screen?

    Kynn:
Chinchilla does not have that feature built in but, as you have said, there are some that will provide it and should work fine with Chinchilla.

    angrysteel:
I have added an option for this. You will now see a second dropdown menu labelled "Tracking" at the top of the config window. Simply choose a button and when you click that button over the minimap the tracking menu will appear. The default setting is scroll-wheel click, but you can change this.

Is there a way of displaying the quest markers from the main map on the minimap? I know theres a new addon that does that but was wondering if chinchilla has that function built in somewhere already.

Any chance of getting a Right Click to open the Tracking Menu option.

I have tried using another addon that does this, but Chinchilla would still ping the map (when the preference drop down was set to 'None'.

Seems like it would be fairly simple to add, and would be a great addition for those of us hiding the tracking icon. With Cata coming in a little over a week, im sure we will be using the tracking menu a lot to find places all the new npcs (repair, quest, etc, etc).

The spam was some debug I left in and was too lazy to make a new build to remove it. Sorry about that.
v2.2.2-14 and onwards are spam free and have a working "show buttons only on mouseover" feature.

Your current versions are spamming my chat window with "on enter" and "on leave" every 3-4 minutes, multiple times. I'm not sure exactly what prompts this as there are no lua errors reported by Bugsack. I've tried to tie it to something that I'm doing in game but have been unsuccessful and had to reinstall an older version (2.2.2-3-gc97682e according to my in game config panel) to eliminate the spam.

The clock problem has been confirmed to be a conflict. Thanks to Bremp for reporting it!
Chinchilla should now play nice with Titan Panel v5 and it's Clock module as of alpha build v2.2.2-3.

Would you guys believe that I was once the author of Titan Panel? :)

Hm...I can't think of any mods I have running that affect the in-game clock.
