Chinchilla Minimap

Example 1

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates.
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Zoom
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

Thanks GRiMoku, I've got it installed and am giving it a try. I needed something to be better able to see focus debuffs and what do you know, this looks like it will do the trick there too. So thanks for the great suggestion. Was glad to see it was an Ace addon also. :-)

@Skycarya You can move your minimap. Also, there are other buff addons to move your buff/debuffs. Satrina Buff frames, and Elkano Buffbars are two off the top of my head. I prefer Elkano due to the timer bars. :)

Hi. Thanks for the great addon & functionality.

One of the things I like most is the ability to make a -larger- minimap; my eyes can't take staring at tiny objects all day long...

This however causes the onscreen buffs to be blocked from view because now my minimap is in conflict positioning-wise with a few of them.

Can you please add player-buffs / debuffs to the list of frames that can be repositioned? This would keep me from having to use another addon to accomplish this. I like being able to mouseover the (de)buff and maintain the original blizz data/timing etc.

    Thanks much for reading.

    @sirpunky
Done. It is available in alpha build v2.3.1-6 and newer.

    @joshmiller83
I won't add movers for the achievement notification but I will consider the Cho'gall/Atramedes sound bar.
First, I need to convince my guild that I am raid-ready. :p

Can you ad feature to let us chose the level of opacity for expander? Thank you.

Is it possible to get a "mover" for the achievement/guild achievement frame? Also possibly one for the Cho'gall / Atramedes's sound bar? A quest in Twilight Highlands also uses this bar for dream/insanity I think.

Works great! Log is now flush with the edge of the screen, love it, thanks!

    That's a good idea actually.
There isn't something like that yet but I'll add it in the next alpha build. Expect a new build in about 30 minutes from now.

EDIT: v2.2.2-38 is up and has this option added to the top of the Position section of the config. It seems to behave OK, let me know if it doesn't.

Youre right the orange box is flush with the side, but that nonetheless still leaves a gap there once the log is visible which while a minor issue, does leave wasted space in my UI. Is it possible to allow the orange box to be placed outside the visible area of the screen? That would allow us to manually correct the problem by moving the box until the quest log is flush.

I'm tempted to say it's partly due to a bug in Blizzard's code or a fault with the previous author's positioning logic code.
It also depends on how wide you set the tracker.

I have something similar where the slider can go to 725 but the tracker only goes to 595, but even so the orange box appears flush with the side of my screen. It differs from screen to screen.

I could re-write the entire positioning logic but that will break everyone's saved settings and I'd rather not do that.
