Chinchilla Minimap

Example 1

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates.
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Zoom
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

    A small comment to warn you that itIT translation has been completely done; you can add it in your next release :)

    @Curace: Go

    Yeah, I didn't get around to finishing it. =/

    I'll revert the whole thing for now, I'm off on holiday starting tomorrow so I won't be able to fix anything until early January next year.

    Since you combined wheel zoom and auto zoom, you can't use the wheel zoom unless the timer is engaged, any way to be able to still have the wheel zoom without having the timer kick in? It was nice before where you could disable the autozoom and be able to maintain a zoom level for whatever you were doing at the time.

    So still have wheel zoom and as an option, have it revert back if the timer is also engaged or enabled. Thanks for consideration to this request.

    @ywfn: Go

    I think I've fixed it. It was being caused by a quirk in Blizzard's code.

    In short, the armoured man is hidden when the vehicle seats indicator is shown, and Chinchilla's tampering makes the game think it is shown, thus hiding the armoured man.

  • Avatar of ywfn ywfn Oct 07, 2012 at 12:45 UTC - 0 likes

    Not sure when this started, but in recent versions of Chinchilla, the "armored man" durability indicator (shows up when you gear is broken, etc) is seemingly being hidden by Chinchilla. I've moved its position around using the Position menu, but no matter where I put it, it doesn't show up. If I disable Chinchilla, I can see it.

    My workaround for now has been to also install the SmoothDurability mod, which causes the armored man to become visible again. Interestingly enough, I can move it to where I want it in Chinchilla, and SmoothDurability will show it there. But with Chinchilla alone, it's always invisible.

    @EthanCentaurai: Go

    It does work in Terrokar but NOT in Hellfire or Zangarmarsh, even with the alpha installed.

    Thanks in advance for any help on this.

    I managed to figure it out. You need to enable world pvp objectives to always, then reload addons.

    But the above setting was it I believe, thanks for your response and help.

    @marshall654: Go

    Sounds like a conflict with another addon but I will try look into this further (translated: I don't PvP). Does it still happen in other places, like at the towers in Hellfire, Zangarmarsh and Terokkar?

    Feel free to grab the alpha but I haven't made any changes to how the positioning code works.

    I am still having the issue with chinchilla not displaying the capture bar for Tol Barad.

    Running 2.4.2 and I have moved the capture bar window to under that map.

    Should I get the alpha and see if that helps or is there some missing configuration on my part?
