Chinchilla Minimap

Example 1

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Show your location coordinates.
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move Buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range Circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
Tracking Dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

Hi, Just wondering if its possible to reproduce the same bug in Chinchilla that I'm having almost consistently, where the appearance module seems to fail and reverts to default size during random events such as opening bags, changing zones, starting combat, selecting targets etc.

It's able to save all of my settings like buttons, placement and size, however when this appearance "module" (as it is labeled in the menu) fails somehow, only the size will revert to 50%, keeping the border type/color/opacity as is.

When I reopen the settings menu and go to appearance, I can fix the size bug for anywhere from 15 seconds to 3 minutes by either readjusting the size slider away from its current preferred 200% to say 205% and back to 200% before clicking okay (it always shows 200% as the text setting even when the graphic has resized to 50%) or by clicking the "disable" appearance module box and reclicking "enable" to restore the saved 200% setting.

Hope this makes sense, I'm running a host of other mods, including one questhelper but nothing else like a map mod is running.

If you track down what causes the size to reset/fail, please share any possible remedies to improve this great mod ! :D

I've not noticed this... the flags and arrows show up fine for me and I've been to the Culling of Stratholme more times than I'd like.

I don't know if its a bug or not, but, For instance: I'm in Caverns of Time Stratholme and when the White Flag comes up to show where the next wave is, it doesn't show on the minimap unless you're near it so I have to rely on others to start walking towards the next area so I can tank the mobs. Is this a bug? Intentional? The default minimap shows the flag from afar but Chinchilla doesn't and I wasn't sure if I should put in a ticket or not.

Look at that subtle off-white coloring... The tasteful thickness of it... Oh my God, it even has a watermark...

Good add-on. Far less buggy than SexyMap.

@sdgoe: Right-click on the minimap or type '/chin'.
@khariv: I'd ask the DXE guys, as they provide their own boss frames.
@creepy_inc: Seems fine for me. :/

sorry to be such a novice, but how do i access a configuration menu for chinchilla? is there a slash command or something? NOTE: first time i installed, /chin didn't work nor did right clicking. i also couldn't see it in Options Interface AddOns. But i deleted it, redownloaded and installed again and all is well. thanks!

Is there any way to hide the boss frame completely? I use DXE, so the extra gunship frames don't do anything for me.

I don't seem to be able to get the calendar to show on the minimap, any idea what could fix it?

Chinchilla can move the boss frames... kinda. There is a bug where the boss frames revert to their previous position. I'll hopefully fix this sometime after Christmas.

I'm looking for something that can move the Gunship boss frames.

I'm hoping Chinchilla will be updated so that it and other boss frames can be moved. They appear right below the minimap.

If anyone knows of another mod that can move them please let me know.
