Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.
- Appearance
- Allows changing of blip size, border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
- Compass
- A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
- Coordinates
- Show your location coordinates.
- Expander
- Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
- Location
- Show the name of your location more flexibly.
- Move Buttons
- Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
- Ping
- Show which team-mate pinged the minimap.
- Position
- Position the minimap and frames around it.
- Range Circle
- Show on the minimap where your range extends to.
- Show / Hide
- Show or hide various frames related to the minimap.
- Tracking Dots
- Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colour-blindness
- Zoom
- Use the mouse-wheel to zoom the minimap and zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).

I've turned it off for the time being.
I drastically changed way frames are hidden in v2.5.14-15 but it didn't work with boss frames in their current state.
If you really want the functionality back then you'll need to revert to v2.5.14-14 or any previous package. I'll bring it back eventually. :)

With v2.5.14-19-g4d04c5e you can no longer control the boss frames and they are enabled by default.
I like this turned off or hidden.

Yeah, I didn't get around to finishing it. =/
I'll revert the whole thing for now, I'm off on holiday starting tomorrow so I won't be able to fix anything until early January next year.

Curace Dec 15, 2012 at 22:07 UTC - 0 likesSince you combined wheel zoom and auto zoom, you can't use the wheel zoom unless the timer is engaged, any way to be able to still have the wheel zoom without having the timer kick in? It was nice before where you could disable the autozoom and be able to maintain a zoom level for whatever you were doing at the time.
So still have wheel zoom and as an option, have it revert back if the timer is also engaged or enabled. Thanks for consideration to this request.

I think I've fixed it. It was being caused by a quirk in Blizzard's code.
In short, the armoured man is hidden when the vehicle seats indicator is shown, and Chinchilla's tampering makes the game think it is shown, thus hiding the armoured man.

ywfn Oct 07, 2012 at 12:45 UTC - 0 likesNot sure when this started, but in recent versions of Chinchilla, the "armored man" durability indicator (shows up when you gear is broken, etc) is seemingly being hidden by Chinchilla. I've moved its position around using the Position menu, but no matter where I put it, it doesn't show up. If I disable Chinchilla, I can see it.
My workaround for now has been to also install the SmoothDurability mod, which causes the armored man to become visible again. Interestingly enough, I can move it to where I want it in Chinchilla, and SmoothDurability will show it there. But with Chinchilla alone, it's always invisible.

It does work in Terrokar but NOT in Hellfire or Zangarmarsh, even with the alpha installed.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
I managed to figure it out. You need to enable world pvp objectives to always, then reload addons.
But the above setting was it I believe, thanks for your response and help.
