Chinchilla Minimap

Example 1

Chinchilla Minimap alters the Blizzard Minimap in a way to provide much nicer features and other niceties.

Appearance
Allows changing of blip size (useful since 3.1), border style, shape of the map (doesn't have to be circular, or even square, lots of options are available), size, etc.
Auto zoom
Zoom out the map automatically after 20 seconds (or so).
Compass
A more flexible north-east-south-west indicator.
Coordinates
Show your location coordinates
Expander
Make the minimap very big temporarily (good for gathering or finding a tough-to-spot enemy).
Location
Show the name of your location more flexibly.
Move buttons
Move the buttons around the minimap to wherever you want (even off the minimap entirely).
Ping
Show which team-mate pinged the minimap
Position
Position the minimap and frames around it.
Range circle
Show on the minimap where your range extends to
Show / Hide
Show or hide various frames related to the minimap
Tracking dots
Change the dots on the map to a different set of images. Very handy, especially if you suffer from colorblindness.
Wheel zoom
Mousewheel to zoom the minimap

Good add-on. Far less buggy than SexyMap.

@sdgoe: Right-click on the minimap or type '/chin'.
@khariv: I'd ask the DXE guys, as they provide their own boss frames.
@creepy_inc: Seems fine for me. :/

sorry to be such a novice, but how do i access a configuration menu for chinchilla? is there a slash command or something? NOTE: first time i installed, /chin didn't work nor did right clicking. i also couldn't see it in Options Interface AddOns. But i deleted it, redownloaded and installed again and all is well. thanks!

Is there any way to hide the boss frame completely? I use DXE, so the extra gunship frames don't do anything for me.

    Thanks.

I don't seem to be able to get the calendar to show on the minimap, any idea what could fix it?

Chinchilla can move the boss frames... kinda. There is a bug where the boss frames revert to their previous position. I'll hopefully fix this sometime after Christmas.

I'm looking for something that can move the Gunship boss frames.

I'm hoping Chinchilla will be updated so that it and other boss frames can be moved. They appear right below the minimap.

If anyone knows of another mod that can move them please let me know.

    Thanks

Hey, first off - love this mod, it's been my Minimap of choice for a long time now! Very recently though, since v2.1 I think, I've been having a serious problem with it. Chinchilla simply will not save my settings. I configure the minimap how I like, moving buttons and the quest tracker, changing it's shape, and everything else.. Then I log out, and log back in, and my minimap is reset to the upper right corner with all the default starting settings.

It doesn't matter if I make a new profile, or try to copy from one I already have; everything is back to it's defaults: shape, buttons, positions, everything! It's quite a frustrating thing to re-configure the minimap every time I log onto a character.

Anyway, I was hoping (praying!) that there was some kind of fix for this out there, or if this has been a common issue since v2.1?

Thanks again for this awesome addon!

Oh, I see. I must be blind, haha. Thank you, sir.

I haven't removed the option, I moved it to the MoveButtons module. Having it in the Position module caused display issues. Honest!
    :)
