231 - ChatScroll often fails to activate
What steps will reproduce the problem?
The problem experienced here is random in the times it happens, but it happens frequently ever since v.1.3.3-1-gfc92b77 with the "remove a hook that may have been causing a scroll issue, wasnt really needed" change that was made to ChatScroll.lua.
Log on with a character. A good percentage of the time, chat scrolling fails to activate. This is with "Mousewheel Scroll" checkmarked/active in the character's option profile (using a global profile for all characters) and "3" as the chosen scroll lines.
Until the next time it suddenly deactivates on its own again after relogging/exiting and coming back
Has happened logging onto one character from a previously exited WoW. Has also happened logging onto one character where it works, logging out, then logging onto another character (same profile) and it stops working. Or just relogging the same character where it worked the first time and it stopped working after the relog. And on and on.
When the problem occurs, go into options and uncheck and recheck Mousewheel Scroll, it always activates again...for that session at least. But that's a giant hassle.

The "fix" in the current alpha creates its own problems. Never had this issue with ChatScroll.lua from v1.3.3 (and prior).

dodomir Dec 18, 2011 at 13:07 UTC - 0 likesbeen using v.1.3.3-2-g2d2244c over 2 weeks and the chatscroll issue is still here. Although it occurs considerably less frequently.
