148 - Cartographer Instance Maps preventing drop down menus from working in instances.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Cartographer.
2. Enter any instance.
3. Try to use any drop down menu such as changing loot type or marking a mob.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect the drop down menu to open and stay open allowing me to perform the action I'm wanting to perform.
What I get is the menu opening and closing again so quickly I can't select anything.
What version of the product are you using?
2.5.3
Do you have an error log of what happened?
No errors produced.
Please provide any additional information below.
Disable Cartographer Instance Maps and the problem goes away. Of course, disabling the instance maps also disabled Cartographer Instance Notes and Cartographer Instance Loot so the problem could be in one of those as well.

Zidomo Sat, 03 Oct 2009 14:14:13Speed_Fu uses/can use the Astrolabe library, which triggers this Cartographer bug.
According to the QuestHelper author: There's a bug in Cartographer where SetMapZoom() or SetMapToCurrentZone(), called in an instance, causes any open menus to instantly close. Questhelper (and in general, anything that uses Astrolabe, and other UI mods as well) call those function every frame if the map is closed. This isn't a performance problem or anything, but it happens to trigger the Cartographer bug.
The current QuestHelper versions have a hack workaround for this Cartographer bug. But no other mod does. In addition to anything that uses the Astrolabe library (which a ton of mods use), this bug appears when using the LibTourist-3.0 library (also which a ton of mods use, including Cartographer...heh), GatherMate, LightHeaded, Atlas, Analyst, DXE, Broker_Wintergrasper, Mountiful, _NPCScan, QuestGuru, SilverDragon, and on and on.
The bug really (really) needs to be fixed.

phrsoft2003 Sun, 12 Jul 2009 08:34:28I got this problem without QuestHelper, i eventually tracked it down to Speed_Fu, an addon that shows your current speed in Fubar, by tracking the map, which the game doesn't have in instances, i'm guessing this is the relation to why it bugs Cartographer Instance Maps.

0xdeadc0de Thu, 28 May 2009 19:08:14I'm experiencing the same problem. But there is easier workaround:
Open the map window and then right click works. If you close the window, right click will not work again.

irecinius Thu, 28 May 2009 17:27:51Its the instance maps that cause this problem, disableing it at load, will fix the issue..
But you will lose maps of the older instances. This also fix a issue where you get no party tracking on newer instances with ingame maps

gnomishinvader Wed, 20 May 2009 23:10:59I also have had this bug for quite a while. since the last major patch in fact. I does appear to be the instance maps submod itself rather than the 2 that depend upon it. also, ive found 1 or 2 instances where the bug is not present at all. unfortunately i cannot remember them offhand.

dargix Mon, 18 May 2009 00:43:53after some checking it seems to be the Instance Maps option causing it.

halverton Sun, 17 May 2009 21:07:12I'm having the same issue. As a raid leader and raid assistant, I can't accomplish anything because of all of the right-click menus used. It took a long time to track down to Cartographer as it was the one of the last ones I would have expected. I had to disable Cartographer until it's corrected.
